Amazon Prime Video has indeed introduced more ads recently. As of 2023, they announced plans to roll out ads during shows and movies, similar to how other streaming services like Hulu and Netflix have ad-supported tiers. The ads are now included in the standard subscription, but Amazon offers I believe an ad-free option for an additional fee. + sync 1

And, in addition to the additional fee, is the caveat that the freevees will continue to have ads.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge narrates this two-part documentary about one of the most intelligent and mysterious life forms on the planet.
Ali Gator Posted May 10 Posted May 10 My subscription to Amazon ends on Memorial Day, and after nearly 10 years, I'm canceling. There is really nothing I watch on AP, and the shows I'm interested in are either for rent or to buy. As for the 'free 2 day shipping' - no matter what I purchase or when I purchase, it never comes on the second day - it always takes at least five days. So why bother ? samhexum 1

So why bother ? I sure don’t have that problem here in SoCal. Same day, next day, overnight, 2 day all works. I’d say about 5% of the time there is a delay, but I order a lot and it’s usually on time. I like some of the Amazon streaming series as well, Bosch, Reacher, Jack Ryan, some others. + FrankR and + jeezopete 1 1
Ali Gator Posted May 10 Posted May 10 After I cancel my suscription at the end of this month, does anyone know if Amazon will start emailing me discounted offers to 'come back' like many companies do these days ? If they do, I'd consider it if the offer was worth it (I'm not talking '10%').
TonyDown Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I dropped Netflix and Apple TV, and kept Prime. I added Hulu with commercials. I've kept this mix for a while. I am now considering returning to Netflix and if I do, I will drop Prime.
d.anders Posted May 12 Posted May 12 The invasion of commercials on streaming is insane. No matter what you pay, they want more money. All of my services have been gifted, so a beggar can't be too choosy. I absolutely hate the commercials.
