Hillcrest in San Diego: How are the gay bars/clubs there?

I first socialized there some 45 years ago. It was lively then and I recall meeting my first Marine there (and our date lasting until late afternoon the next day).

Why was this moved to Male Strip Clubs?  He asked about Gay bars in general not specifically about strip clubs? Just wondering so when I post in the future I post to the correct group.

I haven't been to San Diego in a long time, but I remember that Hillcrest was a nice little Gayborhood.

Hillcrest is lively and hopping, lots of gay bars to choose from. I’m a hop skip and a jump from Hillcrest. I visit once in a while, and I like to have a drink and watch drag race live at one of the bars whenever there’s a new season on.

Glad to read that the area is still doing well. I went to Hillcrest to see the movie "Hedwig", the only theater in all of San Diego showing it. Me and msclelovr showing our age! Frankly, the Hillcrest cinema was well ahead of their time, as they also were the only theater to show "Blair Witch Project" before it became a phenomenon.
