The Rentmen Site Upgrade

Has anyone taken the 'new' Rentmen for a test drive?

They no longer have the options to sort by position Versatile/Top or Ask Me about Safe Sex. Those with these choices in their ad do not appear in the list generated by the search.

In smaller markets this is no problem (just a time waster). But in larger markets (San Francisco, NYC, London etc) it will be a major slog to have no search criteria. For the escorts it will mean their ad will not appear.

Am I doing something wrong? If not, do the escorts know about this? If you know any advertisers on the site, let them know. BTW I did let the site know and received a message that they will fix it. I received that message a month ago. And they retire the old interface in a month or so.

The new RM app is pretty bad. It glitches out all the time. I often cannot access my chats, which is really a major problem since that's how they encourage you to communicate on there. 

The search functionality is mostly there though. It does require a lot more scrolling and clicking the "More Filters" tab. I don't like that search forces you into a little pop-up window, but it is what it is. It does look like you can specifically search for versatile/top/bottom and safe sex/bb though you have to scroll down a bit to find the latter.

keroscenefire, I have tried V0.7 at both rentmen.eu and rent.men. The search options are visible on the first page. They still do not offer VerTop or Ask Me. Are you using the app? I haven't downloaded that yet.

Is it just me? I hope the computer gods aren't mad at me.

You're right about Ask Me. That's not on there. I think you can click both Vers and Top simultaneously so I think that would give you basically what you're looking for.

This is depressingly reminiscent of the Planet Romeo site. It’s revamp, now a few years old, is a textbook example of how to ruin an effective, user friendly website.

I just heard from a provider that they can't take any more bookings right now but the ability to make himself as unavailable isn't working.

As others have reported I have also had issues accessing my chats.  It works for a while and then problems again.  For a while I could only access them from a desktop.

This new version is still pretty glitch.  Hopefully the can get it worked out.

I’m all for change, but Version 7 is a hot mess. This “upgrade” is a navigational shit show. I hope there’s a chance we revert back to Version 6. My two cents.

I just went to rentmen.eu (rather than .com) and it is still version 6.0 (for now).

My business mind is wondering if they are trying to get clients to become premium members by making the "free" experience difficult. And are they trying to maximize income streams from both sides to make the books looks attractive enough to be bought? Is this them cashing out?

The latter. If I were the owners/founder(s), I would be aiming for an exit at this point for sure. They have the critical mass of the market in the USA at the very least which is huge.

The upgrade is crap.

You can not set up filters looking for tops or versatile.

The same, you can not filter now guys using "caucasians" or "blacks" or "hispanics".

I am going to waste a lot of more time looking for the guys that I like and that I want to fuck.

What a piece of shit. well I assume it will be a very "politically correct" website.

If you click "more filters" you can still get those ethnic categories. I just did it for "Latin" and "Black" and it worked for me.

All of that is still available if you use the desktop V7.0 version. (I don't know for the app.) You click on "Search" in the upper right and it gives you all the possible filters.

Some of the RM6 functionality has been buried under options, so I think some things are just a learning curve for the new interface since they didn't give a 'tutorial mode' intro.  

The search is kind of janky, I've noticed it doesn't seem to bring up the same results if you try roughly equivalent settings.  I'm not sure if it's just the indexing isn't right or if it's the way I set up the search, but I don't think I was getting as many hits on the RM7 search.  I'll also miss the added granularity with searching for vers/top - vers/btm, which is not the same as adding versitile and top or bottom together.  They decisions they made generally were not helped by hiding or losing functionality.

Oddly, the rates fields are included in the search options, but I think it still mostly suppresses showing them for US clients.  I did somehow see rates on one provider's page (I was looking at torontonians), but I think it was a glitch.  I wonder if searching on rates in the US will have any effect.

Searching for a provider by name makes you go through the location first, then the option for refining the search shows up where you go to a new page to finally put in the name of the provider.  However, you either have to make sure you don't have a location selected or have the location of the provider selected correctly.  Having a direct search box on the main page for providers would be so much easier.

Secondly, the old version used to have the overall rating of the escort on the main page of their profile.  Now, you have to select 'see all reviews' to see the overall average of all the reviews of someone.  You could end up with a situation of the last person giving them 5 stars but all the previous giving one star, but you wouldn't know that unless you dig in.

It shows me the overall rating on the main page of their profile. In this example he has a one star and a three star and the page shows an average rating of two stars with two reviews.

I've noticed this too and I think it is new. I've also seen rate information on a couple of profiles using the app.

I checked this provider's profile using a VPN and saw additional reviews that were not visible without the VPN. Either a bug has been introduced to production or they are filtering reviews based on keywords. My guess is a software bug is at work here.

I see my post from almost a year ago was just commented on. I don’t feel the same about 7.0 that I used to, though. It’s actually pretty good. Just sayin’.
