Despite the "Master" in his title, he didn't seem to be a BDSM type when I met him 20 years ago. It was more of a signal that he was a top rather than a bottom. His apartment didn't have any of the accoutrements that he advertises now.

I am thinking I met him about 16 years ago. Maybe that was when he first became interested in BDSM. I think for any provider who's getting up there in their years it's a reasonable business decision to take on some special skills as their looks start to fade. I remember the tattoo well. The dungeon-master at the BDSM club was openly making fun of him, saying that his tattoo was distracting from the look of his physique.
