What are your feelings about people who never seem to change the pictures on their profiles. There are several that have been using the same pictures for at least three years or more. away from guys Then again there are others that like to keep things current. I shy away from guys who never update their pictures.

Scott for example updates his pictures, and to me he is far more attractive now than when he first started escorting. I could also say that about a few others.

I have also taken pictures of escorts so that they could post them, because the ones they had been using didn't show just how attractive they were, or the pictures they used were just bad photogrphy, and I thought a good picture would help their business. And before anyone asks....no I do not keep those pictures. I may do something with them in Photo Shop, but after I give the pictures to the escort, I remove them from my computer.

IMHO..From what I have experienced, The Guy's who donot change their Photo's Usually, will have more than enough Regular Client's and Great Day Jobs and just not have to bother with much "New" Advertising.

 

The Traveler's on the other hand, like to make it "interesting enuff" for the Guy's in the Citie's they visit, to want to Hookup with them.

 

"Whoever" is coming to town.. with a 1-3 Year Old Pix isn't going to get much interest going at all! LOL

I have to agree with JT that many of the most established guys have so many regulars that they simply don't bother changing their photos. What never ceases to amaze me is the number of young new (and some not so young new) escorts who post awful photographs. A variety of excellent photographs goes a long way in creating a professional image. In a profession where first impression is all important you would think these guys would realize just how important the photogrphs they post are. Now days there are professional photographers available, at reasonable prices, all over the country. I, for one, tend to eliminate escorts who do not present good pictures. If they don't care enought to present themselves positively that tells me all I want to know.

 

P.S. Take a look at rentboy's Mr. Rentboy for the day, Paco/Manhattan, and you will see a great series of photographs. They look great and cover just about all the required material -- torso shot, ass shot, cock shot and just enough of his face to give a good idea of what he looks like.

To me its really not how old the pics are, but does the guy look like his pics. Once a guy hits the 28 and up age, some don't change a lot so a good 2 year old pic may be just fine. On the other hand I've seen some guys who only have a 3 month old pic and spent way too much time at the buffet lately, so the pic is very misleading.

The escort of the day from Thursday of this week is an excellent example of a bad photo. When I first saw it, I thought that perhaps a lunch lady at an elementary school was hustling. On closer look, he seems to be good looking enough but he needs to ditch the swimming cap and stand up a bit straighter to show off his assets. Still, he did wind up escort of the day. Perhaps it was a bad day.

I know of one active escort who is still using the same black and white photos online that he used in the pink pages of the "Advocate" 20 years ago (and some of the same ad copy as well).

It usually says, "In his prime"--hmmm...that must mean somewhere between 50 and 70. There was a guy who advertised for years in Philadelphia Gay News as 48, but I noticed the last time I saw his ad that he has changed it to 60--I'd bet my IRA that he's closer to 75.

It's certainly better if the photos change occasionally at least. I'm somewhat suspicious when the same photo has been up for five years. On the other hand, I know of cases where the escort is really hot and just doesn't bother to change the pix, presumably because he doesn't need to.

I guess if it's someone with a great reputation and lots of good reviews, it doesn't matter that much. But for the guys with no recent reviews, but the same old pix for years, I would hesitate to hire them.

If it is an escort I already know and enjoy, I don't care. I know the scoop about him that pictures will never tell. However, if I have interest in a new guy's ad, my interest will fade over time if (1) no quality reviewer steps forward with positive commentary on him or (2) his pics are never updated.

The key is are the photos representative of who the escort is. Even those with face shots, hair style changes can be important. Tatoos added or was smooth now hairy. A quick question to escort "Do the photos still represent you, if you know they are older."

 

Now to me the selection of photos guys use is of more concern. Even if face and dick are not shown, they are ways to have them taken to make them very alluring. But really the best is to have someone else take the photo. I think it is way to hard to take a good shot, by yourself. I can not believe how many out of focus shots get posted and expect to get hired. If you are advertising yourself, would you not want to look as sharp as can be, to promote the image you want. There are so many good websites to go to to see what works.

It can also be somewhat difficult to find a good photographer for the kind of photos we need as escorts. Sexy without being sleazy isn't within a lot of photographers repetoire who are ok with doing ad shots for escorts. I looked for a solid two months for a photographer for my current pics and he actually approached me, my own searching had gone nowhere. I personally like posing for photos but a lot of escorts don't because you always worry how it's going to turn out. That can be cause a bad shoot also, not being comfie and relaxed. Rentboy has some photographers advertising on their site now so hopefully better photos will result.

your so right JT.. once again.. In this business the visual presentation is MOST IMPORTANT , as I always said.. the QUALITY OF PHOTOS AND PRESENTATION of yourself will attracts QUALITY MEN.

Have been NEW IN TOWN for over 8 year's, BUT I guess IF a NEWBIE CLIENT is reading the AD, The Guy is NEW..TO THEM! LOL :P
