Provider Feast or Famine at some Destinations

Anyone else feel like they pick a location for a trip based on a glut of providers in the area earlier in a week/month only to arrive and almost all the providers seem to have moved on to their next stop? For example, some weeks a location will have dozens of providers and the following week the location will drop to a dozen or less providers. Makes me think there is a circuit or pattern that I’m missing.

(P.S. I am sure someone will mention booking ahead. From my experience, booking ahead doesn’t ensure a meeting. If anything, for me it offers a false sense of security and increase frustration/disappointment when they don’t take place. Same day or even a few hours ahead seem to be the best bet to ensure a meet up actually takes place. I realize others will have had different or contrary experiences and more power to you.)

I'll be in Las Vegas for a business seminar. I might want some company a night or two while I will be there. For me, it's not the sheer number of providers in the area, it's the quality of them. So far, I've seen only one who is what I'd call a "man" who might tickle my fancy. The rest are ordinary or just boys.

Ha, I think I agree. It’s the same for me … if there’s 12 I might not even find one that I like, but if there is 80 I might find 2 or 3 worth pursuing. So having more options seems to help with that.

I was in NYC in august a few years ago. NYC is supposed to be a great market, but there was no-one the peaked my interest. Well almost no-one. my last week Rafael Alancar came back into town. This was pre-OnlyFans, I don't know if he's seeing people now, as he posts nearly every day (yes, I have a subscription) DAMN that man can fuck.

For me, I realize some of the locations I’m choosing are hubs and people fly in and out regularly. I think that’s the problem if the clients aren’t biting then the providers move on to another market.

… But NYC !? Can’t imagine it being dry. That’s wild. Was it during winter? Had the boys all run off to warmer climates to keep their speedos from drying out?

I think this could also be due to the feminization of 'men,' that has happened so much in the "community" lately. I am in my early 40's, and back in the day when I was looking on all the covers of the gay rags, masculinity was presented. Now, it's overwhelmingly effeminate men on the cover or this new 'non-binary, they/them' stuff.

AND HEY, you do you, boo boo. If that's you, go for it. However, I have NEVER understood it: WHY be attracted to a man and then choose a man that resembles more of a woman? I am GAY. I like a MAN!

So, all that to say: as the 'BEEFCAKES' age out, the newer guys coming up aren't as masculine/manly as what we used to have.
This is happening in normal society as well. Butch, masculine, manly men are now called TOXIC. Give me a TOXIC man, any day! HA!

I've visited NYC at different times of the year over 5 decades and have certain impressions of the gay life over that time. Obviously things change but the seasons don't.

To me fall and spring are great times to visit because there is a lot going on generally. Around Christmas and New Years its also busy. In the dead of winter a lot go south. Many escorts make their way to sunnier destinations.

In the dead of summer I think many head to the seaside, places like PTown and Fire Island. The heat can get oppressive in the city.

There will always be someone around but the choice may not be great in these down periods.

It was August, everybody was out of town.

I see your point. I am increasingly attracted to more androgynous guys these days, so for me the trend is positive.
