Suggestions for Masseurs when Advertising…

Some of the massage advertisements are pretty bad, more so on Rentmasseur but also on Masseurfinder.

Masseurs - if you’re looking to attract clients here’s some advice from someone who has booked a lot:

1. Steer clear of the overly sexualized rentmasseur titles. “Top stud” “9incher” “sexybro”. These names belong on a different site and not for massage work.

2. Don’t lie about your age. The majority of us here have ways to research how old you actually are.

3. If you don’t have a face picture as one of your photos, most here will not even consider hiring you.

4. The sweetspot for rates for massage that most are looking for here is between $120 - $180. Anything over $180 for 60mins will make most of us not even consider booking with you.

5. Include a photo of your massage space and table in your ad. Make sure your table has sheets on it as nobody wants to see a bare massage table in an ad. If it’s bare in the ad, we expect it to be bare when we show up.

6. If you have a 30-minute option on Masseurfinder, most of us will not take you seriously.

Others - feel free to ad!

Yup.

I agree on most all of this.

I don't mind someone shaving a couple years in their age if they do actually look younger.

Otherwise this is a practical list.

When prices are too low I am also wary… I don’t mind seeing 180-200 for 60 mins when there are lots of good reviews. Without reviews, 120-160 is the right cost for sensual/erotic.

Agree with the remaining notes. Language that suggests comfy table, good vibe/space, interactivity, shower options and benefits for repeat clients sometimes peak my interests too.

When a Masseur posts "Ask" for rates. I find it dissuading because it's an extra hurdle to do, so I just move on to the next hot advertisement with transparent rates. Maybe other clients don't find this dissuading, so this could just be some of us.

I agree - that’s a good one. When they list ask my first thought is they’re charging escort rates and I don’t even reach out

The "ask" is the worst when they expect you to text them and are unwilling to answer messages on rentmasseur. I do masseur searches on my computer and don't find it taxing to send a note to someone asking how much they charge for different types of massage for 60 and 90 minutes and where about they are located. If I get a sensible answer to all my questions, I'll take it further. It amazes me how many will answer just one of your questions and consider it done, so I give up on those too.

Lying about their age is the first part of deceit...

I’ll add:

Use recent photos. I see some who use the same photo for like 10 years now! Lol. Or if not very recent, at least ones that still look like you (ie., within the last year or two).

I’ve once hired a guy who was much much older-looking in person, but used photos when he was still in his 30s or 40s. Smh.

I've mentioned this before in other situations here, but I think its worth including in the thread as well... Location!!!

I am not referring for an actual street address here, but at least an area or street nearby.  This is an even more important piece of information when hiring in a city with a large geographical area.  Depending on drive times to some areas of my city can be a definite factor in a hiring decision.  And, sometimes  when you ask in an initial inquiry,  often times they forget to answer that part of a question.

RentMasseur has an "Map me" option that can be helpful, but all too often the masseur just defaults to the city map showing the a generic downtown area.

Yes! Although some clients don’t read much it seems to me. I think my location is clear but I still get messages assuming I’m in their city, usually some place in the US.

This is a good topic and I feel I need to share my thoughts lol

140 is a sweet spot - I assume it will be mostly legit/therapeutic but  you are advertising on a website that caters to 99.9 male clientele, so I hope YMMV is still on the table.

if you’re “available now” - referring to RM then try your best to reply to a query. It just says a lot about who you are as a person and how you value client.

Do not have an a la carte of your massage menu/rates a massage is a massage and a client would assume that at least there will be a sensual component (otherwise there’s a ton on Thai massage place that provided a good massage even less than half the rate.  I’d like to believe whatever happens beyond that is consensual “It takes 2 to tango” lol

Do not short on time! I don’t have to explain this but if your style is rub a dub and mostly play I guarantee you that return rate is very very low. Looks can only go so far. There are many fishes in the ocean and by nature humans likes variety lol

I do return a lot to masseurs that really have the skills even if the session is remotely sensual mainly because they have the SKILLS!

I know it’s a lot sorry :)

I disagree with the cutoff of $120-180.

My rates started at $125 and increased to $200 as I gained 12 years of experience and if I count for inflation I should be keeping my rates at $197.

I just hired a guy for a massage a few days ago. He charges $155 and he wasn't even nude and the massage was subpar.

I inform my clients if they want a cheaper option strictly therapeutic non-nude which is $165.

I agree with OP’s $120-$180 is where it’s at.

Your $165 price for “strictly therapeutic non-nude” is what I also pay at 5-star hotel spas. But my $165 there not only gets me a great massage, I also get access to their facilities and amenities: sauna, steam room, hot bath, cold bath, cold room, salt room, meditation room, etc.

1) I have a lot of thoughts, but most relevant to me would be to place your body requirements, i.e. do you accept all body types? Do you only take people under 250 lbs?  Are you only into fit athletic types?  - Body types should not be an issue for an LMT or CMT, but those that are more sex workers have preferences.  I always ask, but it's good to know before I even bother.

2) I also think the requirement should be that your pictures not be more than a year old.

3) The "Available Now" on both RM and MF is a bit of an issue.  I arrived at an appointment one time for an amazing masseur I had been to before and was ghosted after driving 40 minutes in one direction.  He said he was out of town on a family emergency.  OK.  I can give the benefit of the doubt, but he was listed as "Available Now" at that time, and stayed available hours after my appointment time.  - I also found out from another masseur that they have to be listed as available at certain times or their profiles will not be promoted, so they auto "Available" even when they are not to keep their profiles active.

4) If you have a table pictured in your profile and you are traveling, mention if you travel with a table. Also, if you do not travel with a table, don't mention that you travel with a table in your profile and arrive for your outcall without a table and expect that to be OK.

Sorry for the long post.  That is all I have for now.  lol.

Of course this is true that's why 99% of my clients pay my rate for sensual/erotic.

When my rates were $125 an hour massurefinder was only $99 not $400 a month and my 2 bedroom was $1800 a month. I pay $3880 with plenty of parking for clients.

It's also what the market demands there's barely any good massage therapist where I live.

I couldn’t agree more. Especially when it turns out after a few text exchanges that the masseur lives in Brooklyn.

I couldn't agree more.   In any large metropolitan area, the drive time can be 1-2 hours so I always ask the provider for the general area (city, suburb, east side, west side, etc) where they are staying to get an idea about timing.   More often than not they don't answer or state they will provide that once I've booked.
