I think people get tired of celebrities and chiseled faces and bods and relate when someone warm and modest pops up from no where suddenly. I also saw it with Sigmat (on CB/ somegymbro on OF), some shoe salesman in Kansas who popped up with a smiling friendly (without mustache) face and warm voice and smooth bod. When hooked viewers got to eventually see the considerable assets connected to the smooth bod and face $100 tips started popping in every few seconds, faster than he can say "thank you". He tries to get his followers over to OF where he keeps 80% instead of CB's 50% also. But many people like free shows with voluntary tips. (he does charge $5 for cum shows).

In the halcyon days of youth, when out and about, and meeting guys, hooking up, I’ll admit, there was a bit of “la nuit, tous les chats sont gris” at play. But one matures, and that’s no longer the case. It’s very much the whole package -inside and out- that ultimately seals or kills the deal. Having said that, as much as charm, personality, sense of humour, manners, etc. can make up for whatever may be perceived as lacking physically, on the opposite side, someone without any of those qualities cannot be redeemed regardless of how drop dead gorgeous he may be. 

I should add that the above applies primarily in my personal, dating life. For this hobby, a handsome face is definitely something I look for.

I'm sure 99% of the guys are "in the game". no idea what town he's in though. these small-town guys don't get much business for "massage". the big city guys probably make 50/50 online and escorting. I'm sure all the guys have their local regulars. I doubt any want someone obsessed with them except the most hard core con artists ("cash masters" lol). Having someone obsessed with you is a problem.
