Great museum, as are the others on Museum Island.  The Neues holds the iconic bust of Nefertiti.

I haven't been there since Museum Island was in the German Democratic Republic, but in those days it was worth the hassle of traveling into East Berlin, so I'm glad to hear that it is still as good as ever.

The entire Museum Island area is fantastic. Every museum is superb. And the Staatsoper is nearby. I love Berlin.

Regarding Berlin, the newly opened Humboldt Forum is across Museum Island, and the Komische Opera is about 15 minute walk from there. Lots to do and see there!

Most of you august members know this, but I didn't realize it wouldn't be fully reopened until 2037...though the Ishtar gate will be viewable in 2027
