I have scheduled my first out-call at a large city hotel. Should I be prepared to offer the escort some sort of libation? For in-calls with other guys I am usually offered some type of brew either before or after getting around to business.

Short of letting him have the run of the honor bar, should I at least have some sort of beverage on hand?

At the very least I plan to have a bucket of ice readily available in case the CBT gets too intense...

All kidding aside, I don’t want to look like a cheapskate. What is considered proper?

When an escort comes to my hotel, I choose to act exactly as I would if a good friend were coming to visit. That means that I will always have something to offer my guest to drink.

However, unless the escort knows me well, I will not open any bottles beforehand, choosing to do so only in his presence.

I always ask the escort (when booking the appointment) what they would like me to have on hand for them to drink. Some have just asked for bottled water, others perfer a soft drink, and a couple have indicated an adult beverage.

As another poster mentioned, I do NOT break the seal on any bottle until after the escort arrives. I want to make sure they know I haven't "doctored" their drink.

As an aside, one of the escorts I hire likes Scotch. Although he never specified a specific brand, I always get a higher end label. Now, whenever I have a Scotch on the rocks, I'm always reminded of how much I enjoy kissing that escort after he has a drink. My new favorite drink is Scotch on his lips. :)

WG,

I’d be happy with just "plain" water, but that’s because I rarely drink alcohol (except an occasional glass of wine with dinner). If that is important to you can ask your escort beforehand what his favorite drink is. I hope you don’t get something like "Dom Perignon 1988" :+

Steven-I have often had a bottle of nice Champagne on Ice for guys I see regularly-or a newbie that I want to make feel special. If they have more than 1 1/2 glasses it is unusual-leaving me with 3/4ths of a bottle of bubbly to chuck outsince I do not drink.

Splits are the way to go I guess. And now lots of vintners are making single serving bottles.I have been told the Copalla new bubbly is quite nice.

As I mentioned in the other thread on when an hour....., I always offer something, usually at the end, as I said. What I have found is that quite a few guys ask for bottled water before or during (what does that say about me?) ..... and for champagne or hard liquor after.

Do you guys 0ffer it on or off the clock? and finally, does anyone know what Miss Gay Manners would say?

I would say make sure to have water ready and available (from an unopened container). Anything beyond that is up to you. It is always nice when a client offers me a glass of wine or something along that line. But I never expect it.

And as many people have said, whatever you are offering, make sure it is from an unopened container and do the pouring in front of the escort. I will never accept a drink I don't know is directly from a clean source unless I'm with a client I know and trust very well.

First time escorts I always have cold bottles of water. With one of my regulars I see in Philly we both always have a few glasses of wine before hand & during our time. He is not a clock watcher during our visit. Also never less than a three hour meet, one hour sucks :9

When in doubt I whip it out :+

Vince Rockland has told the story that once he went to a clients house and accepted a drink. He then began to feel funny and realized that the drink had been drugged. He left immediately and phoned a friend to pick him up. Hard to tell what the client had in mind, but it was not good. The story explains why most escorts will not accept a drink which has been opened.

Knob Creek on the rocks....

I never mention this to my dates but amazingly they did there research and founded out what I enjoyed and have it ready for my upon door knock. This always made me feel like a gent. Good things happen to those who make me feel like a gentlemen.

The above posting of mine was so full of grammatical errors that it is actually embarrassing. This post-graduate lad I knew while in secondary school told me to refer to bad spelling as one of the side affects a great education. I unfortunately do not have anything to blame for my lack of grammar skills; other than booze. Mom told me the usage of that excuse ran dry after I knocked the neighbor up.

No more drunken post for this gent.

What's The Bandwidth?

I would continue with the What's The Frequency . . . reference, but that would be a "no-no."

I always offer clients bottled water, at both room temperature and from the ice box. One of the first things I do when I travel is run to a drug store to get a six pack. The only thing I ever drink with new clients is water, unless we go out to dinnerafterwards. However, I have brought some very nice bottles of red wine and, yes, some very good champagne over on a few overnights, as several regular posters on here (and other clients of mine) can attest.

I have a few clients who like hard liquor and I only partake of that when I know I will not need to drive but generally say: thank you, no to the offer.

By the way, this specific thread has been asked and answered several times in the historical archieves, but I am not sure how searchable those are at present, so I did not suggest it. But there is a very good, long thread where a lot of escorts and a wide varierty of clients chimed in.

Welcome wagon

Hey Joel,

Way to welcome the new guy. thank god you weren't the WW when I asked nearly the same question three years ago when I first started hiring.

Cut the guy some slack and save us all a bit of heartburn will ya?

And for the OP, I always have cold bottled water and will often ask in advance if the guy has another favorite beverage. it often surprises them in a good way.
