A lot of tattooing is about declaring ownership of your body, so this isn’t really surprising.

Thanks. That certainly explains a lot. And this is by far a more intelligent explanation than the silly tautological statement that people get tattoos "because they want to."

I always thought a lot of them get it to look more masculine. Or ones on the chest to hide the scars after top surgery.

You may have a point about trying to look more masculine. I hadn't heard that one before. I don't know if there are any tatooed trans men on this forum who can chime in. Obviously, that's not a question one could ask a trans man in polite conversation at a social function or after hiring him as an escort. Some of these trans men, however, seem to have tattoos everywhere except their chest, so I'm not sure that's a frequently correct explanation.

so let me get this stuff straight. in the world of zee, they, za when pronouns move people to the center of androgyny so to speak on matter of genders, then why do mtf's come out as ultra feminine and ftm's do everything to become as masculine as they possibly can. should people with those pronouns be as androgenous as possible so their physical appearance matches their pronouns? or is this crap just and people will always want to be masculine and feminine?

I'd say it's about as complicated and individual as anything gets, and you'd find someone for whom any single answer was accurate.
