this being the "Ask an Escort" forum, my question is directed primarily at my fellow escorts (except jason). of course, clients (except axe, lucky, & woodlawn -- JUST KIDDING!) are welcome to chime in as well.

 

so, what would you do in the following situation?

 

a client--we'll call him "don" for now--made initial contact via the calendar on my website asking if i would be available on thursday, 13 nov--"later in the night". i responded back indicating that yes, i could see him. i explained that i had an inquiry for earlier in the day, but would be happy to see him. "don" said he was looking for 10pm or so. i responded that that should be fine even if the other inquiry panned out, since i'd have 6 hours to get refreshed for him.

"don" agreed and asked to confirm 10pm on thursday. he then made an inquiry about my fee. i explained the fee to him. he responded with "great ethan!" and confirmed thursday at 10. he mentioned where he was staying (the JW Marriott) and said he'd be arriving around 4 & would call me with the room number as soon as he arrived.

fast forward to thursday at about 4:15pm...

i was unable to take the phone call, but received a voicemail from the PUBLISHED number of the JW Marriott. it was "don," of course. his message was rather interesting. he indicated that his flight was being delayed & HAD NOT LEFT ITS POINT OF ORIGIN YET. "don" went on to say that he'd give me a call as soon as the flight reached DC & he was able to get to the hotel. he rambled on about being sorry. he said he'd still like to get together later that night, if it wouldn't upset my schedule. he indicated IF that wasn't possible, he wanted to make up (ie, pay me) for the time he'd reserved. he requested that i send him an email advising him if later thursday would be possible.

 

now, let's review the important details.

1) he called from the JW Marriott hotel downtown.

2) he alleged that his flight hadn't yet arrived in DC though.

3) he said he'd give me a call when he reached the hotel, BUT was calling from the hotel when he said so.

 

clearly the man has an honesty problem. i DID send him an email & i'll let you know what that said, but i'd like to hear what you other escorts would have done. thanks!

 

oh, by the way, if there is still an escorts only forum, i'd like to give the information to hooboy so that he can make a posting in there for me & alert other escorts to the shenanigans of this predator.

I ask clients such as this to re-confirm their own appointments earlier in that same day (or, if they are comfortable, if I can contact them directly, when and at what number).

 

I do not use caller ID, so this situation would never arise for me and I also accept people at their word. I would, under these exact circumstances, remind him very nicely of what I would likely have already commented to him earlier in the week, which is not to rely on e-mail communication so close to the appointment time.

 

Based on your descriptions, he has not really re-confirmed the appointment, and therefore he would be in danger of losing it. I would have thus e-mailed him and advised him to telephone me ONLY upon arrival to re-confirm or suggest a possible new time.

 

I would also assume this appointment was not going to happen and make other plans accordingly.

 

Given the exact SAME set of circumstances as you (i.e., I had CALLER ID and either saw the client was calling from a DC area number or recognized the JW Marriott number), I would have assumed the same thing and neither worried nor stressed about it and gone and done more productive things.

I would only let his blatent lies bother me if I had never told one. Think of it more as a timely reminder that sometimes people find it difficult to confront an unpleasant situation and move on from there rather than clients are scum.

That said, I'll add that I have a good friend who's an relatively new escort, and my eyes have really been opened in the past several months as he's related some of the client shenanigans he's encountered. x(

 

Flaky escorts (or worse) clearly exist. Based on what I've learned, there are a helluva lot of clients who are game players too. x( x(

I think they should reestablish such a board-access only granted by moderator given keyword.

Phase One:

- A controlled access forum is established just as you describe.

 

Phase Two:

- Also just as you describe, "the boys" discuss amongst themselves the hoohaw and the beejaw.

 

Phase Three:

- Somebody says something that ticks off Somebody Else, so Somebody Else leaks to the main boards something unflattering Somebody said "in private" about a client.

 

Phase Four:

- Hubbub and, eventually, meltdown.
