Member - Ad link?

I seem to recall, perhaps before the site's overhaul, that the profile of forum members who are providers included their provider name and possibly a link to their ad. Am I missing it? Has it been deleted as a feature?

As noted by @BuffaloKyle, I think you're referring to a signature.  This is a feature that ANY member can utilize.  Providers have the option of including a link to their ad if they would like in the signature.   In fact, we implicitly note in our Community Guidelines that this is permitted so that individuals don't get confused when we say "advertising is not allowed".

Traveling escorts and masseurs may post their travel plans in the “Traveling Providers” forum following the guidelines for that forum.  Requests to advertise on the site should be posted to the “Ask a Moderator” forum.

There are a few other minor guidelines around signatures that apply to all members which are spelled out in section 17 of our Community Guidelines:

I also recall that website details for providers appeared on their profile in the old site software. This was separate from the signature, but like signatures providers didn't have to post a link.

I think people don’t notice the signature messages. Lost count of the number of times I get messages from guys asking for my website when it’s just there on the bottom of my posts 🙂

Thank you. After a hiatus from the site I was looking at the member profile and, as Jamie21 notes, not at the signature.

I would suggest making your signature stand out more.   For example, your URL is not a hyperlink.  You can also make use of basic colors and bolding, etc.

To be honest, compared to posts...  profile pages get almost NO sort of real traffic to them.  Signatures by FARRRRR are the best way for a provider to be seen.

1. It shows activity on the site.  (If you're participating, your link is showing up on everything you post basically.)
2. Profile page views represent about 1-2% of our total site traffic vs more than 90% of topic views.  

Your profile page also has an "About Me" tab that you can use to promote yourself.  It could simply contain a link to an ad, but it's a chance to have fun and be creative.  For example, check out my "About Me"....

Click on your name in the upper right > Profile > Account settings > Signature.  Although that option may not be there for new members.  (I don't see it in my test account.)  @RadioRob?

Thanks, Kevin. Can new members add signatures? When I go to Account Settings, I don't see anywhere to add a Signature. 🤔

I've added the ability for Newbies to use signatures.  

Now...  just so there is no question about the process, once you create a signature...  it won't IMMEDIATELY show.  Any new or changed signature is held for moderator review to ensure it complies with our community guidelines.  So don't freak out if you don't immediately see it.  (You'll see an alert saying the signature is pending until a moderator has a chance to approve it.)

The alert will look something like:

A quirk for me - when I looked I didn't have an 'About Me' tab on my profile, but I went to edit profile and added some test text into the About Me box and when I'd done that the tab appeared. (An artefact of my profile being created in the old software perhaps.)

It’s created on demand the first time you use it. The system does not want tons of blank/empty spaces.
