RE: Cash & Carry

I've only used plastic when dealing with a specific agency in the '90s. They required all transactions (except the escort's tip) to be put on the credit card.

I thought this was odd and asked them about it. They said they had too many problems with the escorts not giving money to the agency.

I personally would never use a credit card again. I don't like the idea of a paper trail and don't always feel comfortable giving my "real" name to the escort.

I couldn't agree more - since when was cash not considered to be legal tender?

Sometimes I use a credit card at Premier, an agency which I have used a number of times. The main advantage to a credit card is that one can extend the session--assuming that the escort is available--longer than one expected, without having to worry if one has enough cash to cover it. Only once did I go to an escort and discover at the end that I had miscounted my money and didn't have enough, and luckily he did accept a credit card payment. I think a lot of clients would prefer to use a card with someone they saw regularly, or with a very reputable escort like you.

As a client, I wouldn't want to do that for a first time, hourly encounter.

I don't understand how it would work anyway. Would the escort have to have some kind of corporation set up and carry a card swipe machine to run the card thru for acceptance of the charge?

It seems rather iffy to use a credit card with an independent escort. Would the client have to provide legal id to verify that the card is his and not stolen? What client would want to do that? Why not just stop at the atm and withdraw cash on the card if you want to put it on the credit card? What would prevent the escort from changing the amount? What would prevent the client from disputing the charge resulting the escort not getting paid?

I could see using paypal or an electronic funds transfer to an account set up by the escort, but I wouldn't do that unless it was an overnighter or weekender with an escort I had been with priorly.

But maybe, I'm just dumb and don't understand how all that would work.

Actually, I've used paypal several times and it seems that requests for this are increasing, but only from repeat customers so far who knew that I wouldn't take the money and run with it.

In a few select instances, I had clients paypal me money to buy plane tickets to come visit (I much prefer that to them having my entire name and mailing address to send me a ticket) or I asked for a deposit from guys I had a feeling might bail out on me once I arrive wherever they are at if it is more than an hour's travel away.

The one big advantage I found with credit card payments through paypal is that it goes straight into my checking account and from there towards my student loan payments without having to make a trip to the bank with a bundle of hundred dollar bills.

I guess in the end, it depends on how trustworthy your clients think you are and how (un)trustworthy you deem your clients...

I did this with one escort a couple of years ago. The escort handled it just like a store would. He had a portable embosser (one of those machines like gas stations used to fill out the form), and called in the amount to the credit card company. I received a copy of the receipt with the verification number from the credit card company. When I got my credit card statement the entry was there made out to an entertainment company with a very innocuous name.

RE: Cash & Carry

There have been a few times when it would have been handy for me. Not to mention relieving the escort of carrying a wad of 20's from the ATM. ;-)

But as a regular practice, I don't think so. Paying in advance has never been an overly popular thing to do, and it's the only way I see PayPal working out.

As clients, we expect escorts to be prepared. They have every right to expect US to be prepared, and that means having the cash in hand.

Hi,

Carrying large quantities of cash around makes me nervous in the extreme. Especially for those rare occasions when I've hired for an overnight, weekend or whatever away from home.

Wouldn't it be nice if PayPal offered some sort of escrow service? The hiring customer would deposit cash in the escort's account. The escort could verify that the cash was really on deposit. After the appointment, the customer would release the cash, and the escort would be paid. If something went wrong, the funds would remain in escrow until both parties agreed to the disposition of the funds. This would prevent the hiring customer from screwing the escort outside the bedroom. :p

Agreed. Wouldn't life be simpler if we could transact our sex without the fear of loosing a giant wad of, um, er, ah, cash.

I'm as nervous as you are about carrying cash, but it's a fact of life. I've checked into hotels using a corporate Diner's Club card with NO LIMIT and had it rejected because the damn computer was down.

In those cases, I'm perfectly happy to whap down a few hundred to get checked in and figure it all our later when the computer comes back up.

Cards are great when the computers cooperate, but bad when they don't.

No, it woldn't prevent anything. It would still be "he said, he said" and the escort would sitll likely get stiffed if that's what the client intended from the start.

Cash is still the only way to do this.

As I pack up my luggage and expect the return of my last San Francisco client, it struck me the number of men who asked if I accepted Pay Pal or otherwise took credit cards. My client came and fortunately asked if I accepted American Express or just Visa as I do not ask for payment upfront. He walked downstairs to the lobby to use the bank machine, but I was surprised that he assumed I would take a credit card.

This has not happened to me in any other city except for San Francisco. I am curious (show of hands, please) as to the number of clients who would like to be able to pay with plastic. By the way, this is just for a one-hour session, IN call.
