This is getting really silly.

Silly, or, perhaps, prudent on the part of the escort? Per Jack Graysonn, an established escort at New Orleans, and posted to his rentmen.eu advertisement: "Taking off for treatment, guys. Get yourself tested, guys. This is my FOURTH treatment this year and it hasn't been particularly busy. This will make 11 weeks I've had to take off because someone had something." As a client, how do you feel about leaving a provider a voicemail, when reaching out to them for the first time? I'm asking however many of you are willing to respond.

I ask because I've had an issue with spam since week one. To better explain, I recently posted the following response to one of my RM Interview questions:

I often come across as "super serious" when communicating through text, email and social media. Don't let that give you the wrong impression, should you reach out to me in writing.

Every day, I receive literally over 1,000 spam texts, emails and social media messages. Bots, trolls, flakes, harassers, stalkers, con artists, other providers “booking me up” so I won’t have any availability… The list of time-wasting, juvenile nonsense is endless.

As such, I must ask strangers to initially contact me through voicemail. If you’re not comfortable with leaving a voicemail, you may text/email your availability to me and I’ll give you a call. Beyond scheduling a phone call, I will not engage in written conversation with strangers.

Alternatively, you may pay an upfront deposit.

If I don’t respond within a couple of days, please don’t hesitate to re-message me. Sometimes legit messages get lost in the ocean of spam.

Does any of this seem unreasonable? Does anyone even read this stuff?

Lastly, considering that:

–my ad's ~3 years old

–I have over 90 glowing reviews (0 negative reviews), many of which from profiles that have reviewed other providers and/or from profiles that were created years before mine was

–I've posted numerous recent photos and videos on social media and OnlyFans

Would it be unreasonable for me to charge a $25 booking fee?

Does anyone have any advice for me? I'm looking to weed out the time-wasters, without scaring away those of you who are legitimate.

Thank you all for your feedback!

You ask for an honest opinion - so I will share mine.  Time wasters are a reality for anyone who is in a service business. Building a book of repeat clients is usually the best way to minimize the impact. Personally I frown on the concept of a deposit and don’t agree to it. Too many of the people I talk to got scammed out of their deposit, so for me it is a no go. Leaving a voicemail is…fine, I guess.

Now, as for your problem with spam, i have to point out that you just posted the same question on 4 different threads…see the irony?

I completely understand your intent on wanting to post your disclaimers as a way to reduce spam, bots, trolls and time wasters. All businesses have this same issue to deal in some respect.

I would say as someone browsing potential hires, I would probably not attempt to connect based on the stern tone. I think there is a better way to edit that message a bit without sounding like everyone is annoying you. I also would pass because of the booking fee as it comes across as self righteous. I am not a provider, so I’m not the expert at advertising your services, but I know in other businesses, this would be a turnoff to potential customers.

I think advertising should focus on engaging the client to book you without hesitation. There has to be an allure or something that creates the desire to connect. Marketing 101. Selling, marketing, advertising is all a game. Stay focused on winning people over, not pushing people away. Disruptions, as annoying as they can be, is a part of business. I would guess that if someone reached out more than once as a follow up is someone who is interested…just in case you are truly bombarded with the amount of spam, etc that you described. People want to connect with someone who comes across as sincere, genuine and appreciative. You attract more bees with honey.

My two cents as a business person, and client. Wishing you success.

IMHO, booking fees are unreasonable for Ticketmaster and other rentseekers who don't provide benefit but extract a cost.  I'd skip any ad like that.  (And recommend using a spamfilter; zero sympathy for the modern ills we all share.)

I don't have an issue with anything you posted in your interview. My preference is RM messenger or voice mail. I don't usually have time to text and, honestly, my dyslexia always makes me worry that I'm texting the wrong number. However, I get your point.

If the fee is in addition to the rate, then yes you would be unreasonable. If you requested a $25 booking fee that you applied to the rate, I would find it less unreasonable. However, given the number of escorts who charge up-front fees and never show, you will immediately be looked upon with suspicion.

A booking fee will not deter time-wasters from filling up your inboxes. They get something (God knows what) from leaving messages and voice mails with no intent to hire. My guess is that a segment of the population has decided to "get" the straight guy, you are a straight guy, and they are coming to "get" you.

I had no clue that $25 was such a big deal to so many people... I pay a bigger deposit than that to schedule my haircut—and the studio has only half as many 5-star reviews as "Liam V" does.

What does a provider have to do to be deemed a trustworthy equal in your eyes, rather than a money-hungry criminal who's likely to steal from you?

Would uploading a new photoset to RM every month or two make a difference? Maybe post more photos/videos that showcase my "day job" success? Raise my rates and make myself less available to "the masses"?

These are serious questions. I understand that I'm providing a service and everything, but it would be nice to have people treat me the way that they want me to treat them—especially considering that most who hire are twice my age (and have had twice as much time as myself to learn how to put themselves in other peoples' shoes).

As a provider, what can I do to make it clear to you all that I'm not another desperate, money/time-wasting criminal?

It sounds like you are a good guy that is frustrated that others are not. That being said you ask "what can I do to make it clear to you all that I'm not another desperate, money/time-wasting criminal?". The answer is.... get rid of the desperate money/time wasting criminals.

in other words, it's not a reality. Comparing a deposit at a well established hair salon to guys hiring mostly strangers from unhealed walks of life isnt a fair comparison.

a great restaurant takes reservation. Most dont charge a fee upfront for no shows. If they do then they are in another stratosphere as far as star ratings ect. If you feel you are "that restaurant" then I would advise looking outside of rentmen to advertise your wares.

You’ve asked for honest opinions, so here are mine.

I know a number of gents on here will vehemently disagree with me, but I generally don’t have a problem with giving a deposit. Provided of course the provider is well reviewed, and we’ve had a conversation ironing out details first. Also, while you didn’t say it, I take it that this deposit is off your rate, and not in addition, (ie; rate of $300/hr less $25 deposit means $275 due), correct?  The way I look at it, the deposit is to reserve a service - like a hotel reservation, a restaurant reservation, etc.. If you as the hobbyist don’t show up, you lose that deposit. Then, at least the provider has some renumeration for blocking out the time and potentially missing out on further earnings.

I’m not sure how much this will cut down on flakes, but I know from other providers it does help. One told me after our second encounter he used deposits to both separate the wheat from the chafe, as well as to establish reliable regulars when traveling. He’d know before going to X city he has say 5 reliable regulars who get priority. After that second encounter, he didn’t ask for a deposit again saying “no, we’re good now”. Maybe that’s a model you can work into your own?

As far as leaving a voicemail, again not a problem. In fact, I do insist on at least one phone call prior to engaging a provider. Voices are important to me, you can tell a lot about a person just from their voice - the timber, pitch, accent, vocabulary, etc.. In addition, texting, e-mailing is such a flat medium. There’s been plenty of commentary on these forums thru the years about “brusque” or “rude” providers based on text/email interaction. While I’m sure some are, I can’t help but wonder how much of the perceived brusqueness or rudeness is a result of the medium, not the messenger.

A question or two for you now if I may:

1.) when I reach out to a new provider, I usually direct to my profile on rentmen so he can see what I’m looking for and decide if we’d be a compatible fit - how do you feel about that?
2.) any plans to come out East, preferably NYC, in the coming months?

Cheers!

Presumably, the $25 suggestion was meant to be enough of a "deal" to deter flakes and tirekickers.

Drawing on your wish to walk in another's shoes:  what strategies would you suggest for clients to not be swindled, be it $25 or $200, by no-shows?

1. I feel this is a great idea. I'd still need to verbally chat with those who have young profiles, but I wish everyone did this.

2. I don't have plans to travel East anytime soon. Do you have plans to travel West?

Correct. I'd even be willing to communicate through RM Messenger, so the client could "tell on me" if I failed to follow through.

I have been sitting here thinking about weather to wait on on this and I just feel that I must because it complete picture is not being told and I don't want people to have the experience that I have.I believe Liam is a great and nice guy but it was at least sexual experience I ever had and I couldn't even finish.I had previously found him on another site and there were probably 50 reviews that were mainly from women that he were hired by for stripping at parties. The one common thing they all talked about was that he was gorgeous but very quirky and if you could look past the quirks and the odd behavior he was a delight.

I have a feeling that my experience with him was not typical because I cannot imagine he could continue to get away with what he did when I saw him.I pulled up to a gorgeous home and Fisher's Indiana and I thought it was his and it turned out to be a friends and he was only staying there for a couple of weeks. His legs were very very thin and bony and I Just point that out because I truly believe his photos have been edited although his face is beautiful and current pictures make me think that he has had Botox and really there's nothing wrong with that.I was not prepared for what happened next. I had hired him for an hour and he asked if I had plenty of timeif I would like to stay for 2 hours. His face and arms and chests were so appealing that I said yes and the house was gorgeous This was all taking place while he was standing in front of the sink slicing an apple. We still there for 30 minutes talking and I'm realizing this is what I'm paying for when I was beginning to get annoyed. We eventually made our way upstairs to the bedroom. Hold on to this folks. Will you believe this? I swear on my life.We went into the bedroom with a twin bed. Not a double not a queen not a king. A twin bed that belong to the daughter ra young girl who was not at home obviously and who's father owned the house. There are worlds laying on my stomach on this child's bed being massaged erotically. In one corner of the room was a Susie homemaker oven guys I swear I am not making this up. I swear on my life I'm not making this up.At one point he took his very precious member appendage between his legs and put his hands around it and made it look like a puppy and said sometimes my girlfriend likes when I talk. And he made his cock talk. The one thing I knew before meeting him that I thought was quirky but I thought maybe he was exaggerating is that he takes five to six hours a day. The guy is a huge huge huge germaphobe. He claims the the whole that he urinates from is so large that he has to sit or he will splash everywhere. When we were done or I should say after he was done and I was getting dressed he went into the bathroom believe in the door open and I saw him sit on the john and urinate only thank God while he also picked at his nose exclaiming, "thats a hard one to reach."

every bit of this happened and I have to believe as I said that this cannot be typical or he would not be in this business. That ass and body could only go so far. If this was all of his behavior for everybody there's no way he would be still be around. I believe there was an another a website where he would advertise as an escort for men and women. It is the women who noted several times of his quirkyness.

I have nobody Here has had this experience with him but if you have I would ask if you would please share some of it to corroborate my story because it sounds so outrageous.I will say he does kiss and it was fabulous. The hair is awesomek The smile was delicious. Has some great qualities but come on man. Lol
