Has the Reopening of Bathhouses Negatively Affected the Escorting Business?

When one reaches a certain age, which I definitely have, then bathhouses become a thing of the past. I had many glorious experiences in bathhouses from the infamous St. Marks in New York in the day, to those in San Francisco, Munich, Paris, Montreal, Madrid, Amsterdam etc. And I survived!!

Today I like to know who is going to bonk me, what his skill level is, and other pertinent info. No more big surprises altho small surprises are always welcome. I had a nice session this afternoon so am feeling mellow.

Oh I forgot one. The bathhouse in Coconut Grove in Miami. Forget the name but it had a large outdoor pool and an indoor playroom, where on Sunday afternoons they would have porno stars perform.

I'm not sure how long ago you used to attend the bathhouses, but since you'd said you used to go to the ones in San Francisco, I'm assuming this was either in or before the mid 1980s when SF closed all their bathhouses down in response to the AIDS epidemic? 

Did you ever attend the Ritch Street Baths in SF? The reason I ask is because I read a very enjoyable and detailed, erotically explicit account of someone's visit to that particular bathhouse which was published in a gay magazine in 1973:

I didn't download this account on my phone. But the bathhouse I attended there was in 1979, before the AIDs crisis. It was in the SOMA. The guy I met there became a companion for the next several days and we did a lot of things together. I met his gay uncle who lived there and some of his friends who visited me back in Canada. 

I still have photos of this young blond Adonis from Minnesota. We corresponded for a number of years and I also kept in touch with his uncle. He became a nurse, I believe.

That Vector publication also showed ads from various other bathhouses in SF during this time.  Crazy to think there were 4-6 different places you could choose to go any day or night.  I remember 8th & Howard (not sure if that was the official name) became the go-to bathhouse for the young and daring during the early 80's about the time Ritch Street faded a bit with an older clientele.

Just before COVID hit, San Francisco Supervisors voted to allow the reopening of Bathhouses.  It's understood once COVID is gone and it's safe to get out again, the Bathhouses will reopen here!  (Personally, I prefer sex clubs and have even seen an escort or two there in my time and had amazing times.)
