I am researching airbnbs in Medellin. Some of them, in the house rules, explicit forbid visitors in order to avoid sex tourism and procuring. Is this a formal legal wonder that no one cares about? Should I avoid these places?

I got the answer in gayguides. I was advised to avoid those places, and to look for staying further from Parque Lleras, the touristic hot area where an anti sex tourism and prostitution campaign is focused.

I do not care what is going on in Medellin now. If I travel, it would be by the end of November.

Check Chaterbate. 1/3 of the rooms there are in Medellin (almost all the Spanish-language ones). Really hot guys and eager to meet. With Club Tobi closed down you really have to arrange a lot ahead. But Medellin guys are exceptionally friendly.

I am in Chaturbate and making contacts. But also have a lot of expectations about Fercho.

Is Medellin a travel friendly place for those who do not speak Spanish? I'm most concerned about arriving there, going through immigration, and getting to the hotel. Are there local companies one can arrange to hire to navigate the process?

I don't speak Spanish and had zero trouble. Remember, Medellin is a city of 4 million metro with several bank headquarters. El Poblado is a huge tourist hotel area. Several US cities have non-stops to Medellin because it's a favorite especially of young tech people working remotely or retiring early. It's draw is it's perfect weather, very low cost, and it's super-attractive and friendly people. That makes it feel like a smaller town. Without Club Tobi and 57a the problem is making contact with the many good-looking guys eagerly available cheap. At Club Tobi the rate was $18 US.

I just spoke with a buddy who is there now.   He reports it's open, few if any restrictions.

On Grindr the escorts all freely advertise as "Prepaygo" over their photo. Since i don't speak Spanish that wasn't an option for me and i doubt it's very safe. 

Pre-pandemic there was Club Tobi and a whole block of hustler bars, a sauna, and a gay sex hotel on Calle 57a. Not now. Pre-arrangement through Chaterbate rooms is probably the best now. 

For those going from DC, United is always including Bogota on it's cheap specials from DC. Low rates and rewards both.

Also Avianca is started nonstop service back to Bogota from Dulles airport, I think Nov. 4, also bookable through United and United awards. I've taken that flight and it's excellent.

Any thoughts on getting to Medellin from NYC? The flights to Medellin are either very early or very late. The flight back to NYC leaves at 5am. Any experienced travelers thoughts on more reasonable flight times?

This may be a really left field suggestion. I had been doing speculative searches on flight aggregator sites for flights to PSP for the April weekend (in the forlorn hope that borders will be open and I can go there), and on the Qantas site. Nothing worth considering. Amex travel on line came up with much better options, although you need to have access to it. I haven't booked anything as I don't know if the border will be open.

Yes, I am. The best bet is that we will be closed until mid-2022, but we may be open earlier. Who knows? I don't know if Amex will give you better options, it may have just been a one-off occurrence when I was looking. No harm in looking at what they offer.

The flights are cheap.  Like 280 from nyc.  The hotels are inexpensive.  Which city has the best beaches.  I'm looking for a reasonable beach vacation.  Ny to mexico city is in the 400s.  And maybe a hire or two.

Columbia has very popular Caribbean beaches but Cali on the Pacific has it's own special character.
