Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

In advance of my first trip to Savannah, GA later this year, I have begun reading John Berendt's  book, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. 

Quirky, but it is a real page turner.

It's a brilliant character study.  It's a book I've read a few times.

Do make sure to visit Mercer House when you're in SAV.  It's fun to connect the dots of 'the book' when you're in that city.

Many years ago I attended a rather formal luncheon in Savannah. At my table was a retired GA Supreme Court justice in his 90’s. I asked if he’d met any of the people in Berendt’s book. He said knew everyone “but the deceased”. In polite company I refrained from asking if that included Lady Chablis.

When you say "It's fun to connect the dots" I think freckles.  Funny that
