30 years ago it was AIDS killing our community now it's drugs. Always something.

 

No matter if he died from drugs, illness or something else, he deserves our sympathy. Hate to see anyone die too soon.

 

Reminds me of when I worked in the funeral business and when someone learned a person died from lung cancer, they'd ask if they smoked and if the deceased did, they'd always give this little look that conveyed "thats what happens". ?

Same story, same industry, different character. It's incredibly sad, but it's not unexpected.

 

It's a shady as fuck business that attracts good looking, immature guys who are given a chunk of money and usually develop a lot of bad habits. The few who have done well I commend. They're definitely in the minority.

 

Porn will continue on the same track as always because no one expects better from that business aside from studios putting out hot content.

 

I've always felt that people who get into porn should first be given personality/mental health tests to see if they can handle the rigors.

At this point, basically every twink on twitter and instagram has an onlyfans. Obviously, the buyer can't subscribe to all their onlyfans so in the end a few superstars will do well on there but most will find that onlyfans is not a viable source of income.

Sadly, nothing protects the foolish and easily addicted.

 

More to the point, very few guys make the kind of money that Gold does through the platform. That's the top of the pops right there, while most struggle, offering discounts to keep subscriptions up.

 

OF is currently suffering from way too many 'performers' thinking they can earn their fortune with crappy mobile phone videos, bad lighting, one angle and zero editing.

I think onlyfans is good for certain people, but it's pretty tough to be one of the few that makes good money on there. I think the early deaths have a lot of contributing factors, lots of money at an age where you're more likely to take risks can lead to drugs and other excesses. There's also the issue of "what do I do now" where porn performers bookings die off as they're out longer. They get 20 scenes their first year, 10 their second and so on, it's an industry with a short shelf life for most and a lot don't prepare for that. (I'm not saying this applied to Alex, just talking porn performers in general at this point)
