Update on The Corner Pocket in NOLA?

Last time I visited the CP the city was just beginning to ease Covid restrictions. Has anyone been there within the last year (2023)? I’ll be there mid-week on my next trip. Do mid-week days have noticeably fewer dancers? Which hours are best to visit? After 10pm? 11pm? Nothing worse than walking in to an empty bar. Thx for some current 411.

I was just there a month ago on a Thursday through Sunday trip.  It was slow mid week but got a little better on Saturday night.   There was about a half dozen guys each night.  A couple were good looking.  If you tipped them while dancing for you at the bar they would stop by for a longer visit but did not do lap dances. I am sure you could negotiate for a later experience when they get off around 2 am.

Lots of street trade hang around that corner as well. 

I've been visiting there on occasional trips a long time and short of new guys with three eyes and twelve fingers I don't see how it could have gotten worse. 

Some times one nice-enough guy would pop up dancing, but you're right; the only really good lookers readily-available I ever met there were on the sidewalk outside.  But I'll go there Mardi Gras. Wish the strippers at Bourbon Pub and Oz were more available. Those are some good-looking guys.

I was there over Thanksgiving this past year and stopped into the Pocket to see how she's been.

Aside from the bartender smoking outside and telling us that we're 'better off anywhere else,' it was pretty much the typical Pocket experience I've come to know.

A few malnourished gogos.  Another one who clearly couldn't stop eating.  A bummer of a scene, to be honest.  The guys looked so glazed-over that there was no possible way this could have been a sexy, exciting environment.

We stayed for one overpriced drink (cash only) and left.

I think Pocket might be a lot more fun if there were a few actual holes in the wall

Corner Pocket update went there NYE after midnight.  Decent pick of some white twinks, varying stages of pretty to neighbor next door(shout out to Harry as in Harry Potter), they had some toned black and Latin as well as I recall.  
 

Usual experience - sat at the bar and there’s wasn’t much lap dances I could see occurring.  It was a decent crowd. 
 

We left shortly before 3am and luckily crossed Bourbon about 15-20min before the incident. 
 

Other NOLA news, Good friends, Exile, Rawhide, and Clover Grill are all going to be changing hands this spring.  Owner is selling the businesses.

Dancers didn’t seem too interested in lining up future business for later in the week, whether it was committing to meets at the bar or otherwise.

Are the Phoenix and Eagle still there? Not in the quarter but not far away. Leather bar on 1st floor and sexy fun bar on 2nd floor. I'll be sad if it has closed.

The Phoenix was still open in February when I was there

The Phoenix is still open. However, the "action"  has been moved from the second floor to the back patio due to an older customer falling down the stairs and suing the bar.  Rawhide has also recently reopened, but I am not sure what the rules are or what happens there.

Oh, I remember a great night at Phoenix.  Went upstairs and home with one of their customers.  Got back to my friends home about 11 the next day.....

I've not seen strippers at Bourbon or Oz.  Maybe they are only certain days of the week???

OMG they used to be everyday at both. Surely they're on weekends.

The Corner Pocket has street trade type dancers. Oz and especially Bourbon Pub had Playgirl cover types.

Oz was more a disco with a couple (good looking) strippers but Bourbon Pub Prarade was the muscley stripper bar upstairs and down. I hope it hasn't become just drag shows now. BPP Eight years ago:

I thought the common protocol was that cameras are not allowed at strip clubs are where boys are go-go dancing.  It's interesting that these 2 establishments are the opposite.  I would probably avoid patronizing these bars in the future, as I don't enjoy the possibility of pictures taken of me at these establishments and published to the Internet, especially the last 2 photographs which like like those being photographed are not in pose and did not give their consent.

Those photos were advertising taken by the bar on their website.
