Well this has resulted in a Negative test for her and a lesson for me. She did get admitted to the hospital and is still being evaluated.

Next time I will go with my best instincts irrespective of social niceties, in other words, I would politely exit.

I am happy you did not get sick. This is a tough way to learn a lesson, but less tough than had you contracted COVID-19.

 

As for your friends, they might need to have a talking to when the wife has recovered from whatever is ailing her.
