I find that the ban is somewhat arbitrary. All these 26 schengen countries lumped together

It is somewhat, but there actually is a logic to it. There is passport free travel within the Schengen area so there is no way for the US to differentiate between countries within the area (any more than it would be possible for Schengen countries to differentiate between people who had visited a particular state in the US). As @tassojunior noted, US immigration would not know where you'd been if your passport wasn't stamped. The UK may not have done so before Brexit because EU citizens had automatic right of abode in the UK, but now they probably would stamp it. When I've travelled there, my passport was invariably stamped with my 6 month 'leave to enter' stamp. (Leave meaning permission, not depart.) I think the bigger issue with the announcement was that there had been no consultation with the EU and even Canada wasn't advised in advance.

Schengen countries are supposed to stamp your passport when you leave Schengen but I doubt US Border Control is going to spend time searching passports for stamps that often aren't stamped. If so things will slow down a lot. I bet they will just assume Schengen passport holders have been there within 14 days absent proof otherwise.

It's definitely spreading within the United States at this point. Colorado had no cases last week and now we have 50. It's not a borders issue, it's a public health issue within the United States.

it's crazy. My work just announced everyone is to work from home all next week, my Dad's retirement home just put a "no-visitors" policy in, and I'm getting all sorts of notices from every business I interact with about the precautions they're taking. Even the pizza joints are recommending online ordering and have the delivery guy just drop the pizza at your door and run.

 

And there is a sudden rush of hot new visiting escorts to Detroit. Argh!

I just got another weird text from that escort who wanted to charge me extra for licking his pits. This one was a Happy St. Patty's Day text, in which he sent a photo of himself with, I must confess, beautiful green eyes (and black hair), baring one of his armpits.

My text to him on January 2, 2020 ""May I ask that there be no scents, deodorants, or anti-perspirant? If you wear deodorant, if you'd wash it off, that would be great."

One of my regulars texted me saying that he wants to meet, but i mentioned my concerns about social distancing. He says, sadly, he has to hustle as it is his main source of income: virus or no virus. Sad that he feels he has no choice. I'm just going to give him some cash to help him for the next month and hopefully meet up once the "curve" flattens.

This is why this will continue to spread. People who have no financial buffer and can't afford to stop, not even for the greater good.

 

Also, within the 'travel deal' and frequent flier communities, there are many who are continuing to fly wherever they can still go. Vegas still has casinos open and are attracting tourists. Key West is attempting to minimize this and keep spring breakers coming in. It's gross.

 

People are their own worst enemy. Unless there's a forced full-stop, a fool and his health are soon parted.

He just graduated university, not sure why he hasn‘t looked aggressively, or perhaps escorting is more lucrative. Regardless, not in a good position to be in. i don’t like it knowing that he “needs” to work. His health and well being are as important as mine as we were (and hope to be in the future) intimate.

Hmmm...wondering what other people’s thoughts are on hiring?

 

my company has recalled everyone from overseas and all international travel - even within region (ie, US to Canada, or Brazil to Argentina) requires group president approval.

 

I am hesitant to hire right now...not that I think the risk is that high, but not sure it’s worth the risk versus a little patience. I haven’t changed any of my daily behavior - nor do I think it is needed (other than some more frequent hand washing, which is probably not a bad idea anyway ?).

Until the virus has been controlled and severely lessoned, I AM NOT ENGAGING the services of escorts or anyone.

 

I'll just have to be patient, and if my libido requires some activity-- I guess I'll just have to entertain myself.

 

It would be great to play, but the consequences of the virus and its effects are far greater than an hour or more of sexual and sensual endeavors!

No everyone has a financial buffer because they don't make a lot of money. It makes sense.

Everyone has their own 'line in the sand' as to what they'll do to survive.

 

And no, these desperate decisions don't always make sense to me.

 

Occasionally folks select jobs that help people, including the poor, rather than higher paying jobs that may not help but a few. They realize when they start working so a personal decision for sure.
