My husband hires but does not think I know it....not a big deal, and I think it might add some spice to our dead sex life. Anyone ever hire an escort as a surprise? How did it work out? Any particular guys who might be best? Looking for NY...Manhattan. Thanks Guys.

Probably good idea!!! You can give it a shot. But discuss beforehand as if he thinks you don’t know about his hiring and suddenly you give him surprise gift he may feel other way and be embarrassed!

No! No! No! It's clear your relationship lacks a certain amount of candor if not honesty. If the relationship, such as it is, is important get him a sizable gift certificate to The Leather Man on Christopher Street. Perhaps shopping there together will open channels of communication that definitely need attention. Good luck!!

Regardless of the OP's question, which brings up all sorts of problematic issues, I think hiring a provider as a SURPRISE birthday gift is never the best idea. I have indeed hired an escort (Andrew Justice!) for my best friend's birthday. However, this came about after my bestie going on and on for months about how attracted he was to Mr. Justice.

I contacted Andrew first and cleared the idea with him. Then I told my friend about my gift to him for a very special birthday present, gave him the fee for Andrew and told him to contact Andrew to set up the session. Following their meeting my best friend told me that it was one of the most memorable birthday gifts he'd ever been given --- he was beyond ecstatic meeting one of his real sexual heroes (and Andrew Justice was certainly always heroic when one was lucky enough to enjoy him "in the flesh!") ;)

My point is, a gift such as this should be given upfront, so the birthday boy may anticipate and enjoy it to the fullest extent possible!

Ditto to everyone warning against the OP's idea, but specially ditto to @TruHart1 .

My close friends would know who to gift me as a surprise and make me happy. However, if they really want to give me the best gift of my life, they should gift me those same guys without the surprise. Anticipation would add immensely to the joy, I would enjoy the meeting so much more if I have been expecting it!

I would say that a surprise is always a waste in these cases. If it is not a waste in absolute terms, it is a relative waste, like it would be in my examples above.
