I wonder if this isn't as much part of the problem as the solution. Right off, the escort reading that email has a 1/n chance of it going anywhere. On the phone, he knows he's the only one you're talking to.

 

I do get the sense that some of the emails I receive are simply cut and pasted and the sender may not even know whom he's writing. Now I do reply promptly even to those, unless they veer to the overly graphic, haggle on price, or mention sending a post-dated check from Nigeria. But I am sympathetic to those who do not.

 

Absent any phone discretion worries, including a number in the email lets the escort know the sender is serious.

I come to my peer group today to admit--yes to admit--that I am still an AOL member. I've had it for years. The main reason I haven't changed is that all my family and friends know my AOL address and I am afraid I might miss telling someone about the change. Also I actually like some of the content on AOL.

 

And my experience may be unusual--but I don't seem to miss any e-mails (either sending or receiving)--on the other hand--maybe I just don't know all the e-mail I'm missing.

 

So I guess I will keep AOL for at least a little longer.

I think you misread or maybe I mistyped my initial post. I was posting suggestions about the topic and just throwing out possible reasons. Any client who messages me, knows I am probably the fastest to reply, as I am always with my laptop at school and such. Nevertheless when I am busy, I am busy, and when I am on vacation, I am on vacation. There are always situations.

Well, I can vouch for Brett. We haven't met yet, mostly because of MY schedule, but every time I've written to him the response has come within hours, frequently in less than an hour. (We WILL spend time together someday! }( )

 

But I can see an escort being unable to respond because he's with a client for an extended period. When I hire a guy for travel or for several days, I always make a point of making sure he has "his" time to take care of email and such and have even let guys use my laptop if they didn't have one of their own.

 

But I can easily see guys being with clients who either don't concede the time or don't offer the equipment. Some escorts have been genuinely surprised when I suggest they toddle off and check with the outside world. I get the impression it's unusual.

 

And everyone commenting about auto-responses should note that not all e-mail systems offer it.

Why is anyone (client or escort) making excuses for professionals who don't return a call/email inquiry?

 

If you are an escort and you are interested to set something up, you FIND a way to keep connected. Check your messages, get a BlackBerry, get an assistant, call Dionne on the Psychic Hotline, for crying out loud and get her help, if you are that popular.

 

There might be a hundred reasons offered by a professional for not returning an inquiry, but let's be honest, OK? If you are posting on any/all of the sites out there to GET business, then please make it easy for the guys who are hiring to make a connection, and don't Make excuses if you don't. It may not be possible for you to get the "perfect client" that is available at your "perfect time", but when most guys are charging $200 to $300+ per hour, please act professionally for the fee structure that you have set for your service.

I am glad he answers your emails in a timely manner.

I think that this is something that those clients that hire more for weekends or more should make note of or those of us who are hired for weekends or longer should ask for. Maybe an hour or so to check emails let people who know what you do that you are ok and still alive.

And if the email system doesn't offer away messages to be sent then maybe they need to shop around for a service that offers such.

Last Saturday (Sept. 29) I sent an e-mail to Ian Beers who received a very favorable review on here and seemed my type. I have yet to receive a reply. My experience too. Unless the ad explicitly says "Prefers email," I phone (usually even then, in fact). Voicemails get returned a lot faster than emails, I find. Often enough the guy even picks up live.

 

Why all this fetish about emails? What is our aim anyway -- typing, or rutting? :-)

Thank you for actually identifying the 'culprit!' I find that all too often in this forum a complaint is made about bad behaviour, but the guilty party is not named - which, in my opinion, makes the post worthless. So, again, thank you.

I've always gone with the 2 email MAXIMUM. There's alway's a reason for not getting a Reply FIRST time! I give it a few days during and after.

 

Guys have eventually gotten back to me that they were Traveling, PC Problem etc.
