He must have played Captain Hook in "Peter Pan," and not with Mary Martin or Sandy Duncan.

 

To be fair, Rip Taylor appeared on television a lot, and was pretty funny.

His act was clownish with the highlight being him running around while confetti got everywhere. He was a highly visible birthday clown. Perhaps he had other talents but his act was really nothing special. Perhaps he knew the right people or knew about the right people.
