Clients: Thoughts on length of visits?

My current trip I have had a view inquires comment on how short my stay in any given city was. Almost in a complete astonishment type of way. I get the feeling that they felt I was too busy to try to meet with me, or had some other type of negative outlook on the short stay.

 

So just curious and looking for feedback on how short stays (1-3 days) are interpreted and received.

I think you got the gist of it. When you see someone is only going to be in town for a short time, you often think it'll be hard to meet up with them because they have so many clients. I also kinda (though not always) am looking for a bit more of a BFE and sometimes if someone is staying for a short time, I might think that they wouldn't be available for the longer session I might be interested in.

It is what it is. When I see that I understand the cost/benefit and assume that someone has an anchor client and there is the reduced potential of scheduling something but try anyway.

I do not, however, understand the 1 day visits. That strikes me as a little flakey.

I tend to think that it would make it difficult for me to hire them, but I certainly don't resent it, and wouldn't complain to an escort about it. He sets the time frame and if I want to see him I need to fit into that, not complain it was too difficult. I understand completely that you guys tailor your stays in cities to the time that you think you can fill with your chosen number of appointments per day. Here's a hint, if you're worried that the dude will be too busy to meet you, don't gripe about it, ask him. He may not be too busy. As Keith said, it is what it is.

I limit my stays to keep costs down exactly so I don't feel the pressure to meet with so many clients and be too exhausted to deliver great experiences.

You may have noticed (or not) that I said 'chosen number'. That was deliberate. I'm sure some try to fit in as many as they can, and others try to set a measured pace. I thought three to five depending on how long appointments were, but I also thought that if they had an overnight they may have as few as one the following day. I really don't care, it's for you to pace yourselves as you wish.

I get that. I only have done one day twice. Once my second time in Philadelphia still trying to feel it out.

And this in trip in Boston, although I am going back for a second 1 day at the tail end of my trip tomorrow. Only reason I did it this trip is because freaking Boston's hotel costs can be higher than even NYC sometimes. I rather plan 1 day and stick to it than cancel a 2 or 3 day trip because regulars are out of town or I don't have a lot of prebookings with higher travel/stay costs.

I don't make any interpretations other than whether I'm interested at all, and then whether availability matches my schedule.

 

I've seen lists of travel destinations, where its clear someone is making a trek. I'm not going to judge a guy negatively for

3 days in LA

1 day in Santa Barbara

1 day in Monterey

2 days in San Jose

3 days in San Francisco.

 

That said... listing a home base and travel plans seems largely replaced by simply updating home base upon arrival in city. The intent may be to attract guys who won't hire visitors; the flipside is that it eliminates planners as clients. There's probably some justification as I'd suspect the "ready-now, see you today/tonight" clients probably cancel less frequently than "ok for 2 weeks from now" planners.

It's also tricky I think when they are only around a few days during the week. I work late many nights so when I see they are only here Monday through Wednesday it's basically a lost cause for me because I know I won't have the energy/time to meet up with someone after working for 11 hours or whatever. I do have a half-day on Friday though so sometimes I luck out by being able to do an afternoon session with someone.

 

One thing I do appreciate is when my regulars let me know ahead of time when they are coming. I have a few that let me know the days and often let me choose the time that works best for me. One in particular I enjoy hanging out with because we often do little dates going to cultural events in town. He lives in a rural area so enjoys being able to see theater or having some kind of ethnic cuisine not available in his area. I love being able to do a longer session/boyfriend experience. I do have a feeling though that I am part of the problem with lack of availability for other clients since I basically am taking up an entire night of the escort's time and he is often only in town for 3-4 days at a time. So I will complain on one side of it and benefit from another.

As a client, it amazes when I see someone only in town for a day when I factor the transportation cost, I wonder the cost effectiveness of such a plan. (I realize that sometimes, an escort is traveling for another career and is only in town for two days of business, and thus may only advertise availability for one night.)

I have NEVER been a big fan of hiring traveling escorts and haven't done so very often. I've always gotten the feeling when doing so I've entered a meat market and have had to take a number. On the infrequent occasion when I have hired a traveling escort I have always requested his first appointment of the day.

I have a major advantage living in Southern California with its large selection of local escorts. Thus I have an enormous selection of guys from which to choose. Now the crazy thing is that my current one and only regular is a traveling escort -- go figure. He usually sends me advance notification of his travel plans so we can set up our get together before his schedule fills.

I have also been sincerely trying to get together with the author of the thread, MrMattBig, but our schedules never seem to coincide. We fooled around a little at the 2019 Palm Springs Weekend but I would very much like to get together with him for a down and serious session.

There are many different reasons that an escort travels. A guy could be in my home city for a few days with the express intent to meet with clients, or he could be visiting friends or family and just puts his location out there to see if there’s any interest and to help him cover his costs. In all honesty at least for myself I go through a whole rollercoaster of emotions. First being extreme excitement that your visiting. Then I usually feeling sorrow because of I prior obligations or work makes me unavailable. If we are able to meet then it becomes let's see if they can catch my attention. In our case I was praying for the best and expecting the worse because I thought you may be leaving the day we met.

 

In all honesty if I was to generalize by length of stay: 1 day a regular flew them out no chance, 2 days may have an overnight booked slim chance to meet, 3 days moderate chance to meet, and finally 4+ days definite chance of meeting.

My take:

Days of visit as listed in ads vary, but...

Typical 3 day visit for many providers: ...arrive day one at noon or later...so, mostly available only for evening appointments.

day two: good all day and nighttime.

day three: checkout at noon, or earlier... availability, if any, is limited to morning.

Provides a very short option for anyone who is not free at night.

And, it can vary, so one has to ask just when a provider is actually available on days 1 and 3.

(I've found it rare that a provider arrives prior to day one, or stays all day on day 3.

I was wondering because I am not sure if it is feasible but would writing a more concise itinerary schedule in the about me section help.

Since my schedule is so chaotic and I never really know what I am doing for work until the last minute I usually plan everything on my days off because I need my sleep. I only really have had scheduling conflicts with locals but figure it must be hard on travelers too. For me at least it would alleviate a lot of wasted time if I know from the outset we are not destined to meet.

Yikes! I wouldn't hire someone if I thought he was fitting in more than 3 in one day. Maybe ignorance is bliss. But I agree with Epigonos that I prefer to hire locals (when I was hiring; I know have a steady beau). I don't hire travelers unless it's someone I really have an obsession for. I guess part of the reason is that I'm afraid a traveler will have multiple clients in one day and therefore not be able to perform as well.

Nah..the travelers have costs to make up so they need to have volume. A lot of the local guys just do it on the side with regular jobs or full class loads at school and are fine only seeing a few clients a week. It's often just a side gig like Uber. Obviously it depends though.
