I am asking this question without judgement, and from a place of genuine curiosity. Do you guys not verbalize to the provider in the moment on what you want, and/or redirect them if they are doing something unpleasant? I had a massage with someone who kept checking a beeping phone. I politely said "you know, I am finding that very disruptive. If there's some need for you to have attention elsewhere I am happy to come back another time." He apologized, silenced his phone and gave me a great rest of the session. I understand feeling vulnerable because you're naked and face down, but you have to retain ownership of your self-interest, politely.

 

I think things like phone ringers, room temperatures, pressure intensity (either too heavy or too light), a light shining through the window can all be successfully negotiated after a massage starts...these are all things I'd ask about and have asked a provider about and in most instances they're happy to provide and make a change. We move on from there. Yay.

 

Topics that are harder to broach are: a provider having no training or technique (despite their ad saying they do), upsells when you're really, really relaxed (really? NOW?) insisting their dog stays in the room (it's not the size or the assertiveness of the dog that bothers me; it's the attachment the provider has to the pooch), getting a little too intimate (I want a massage; I don't want to penetrate you)...the worst is when you get the impression they're just a prick and they're passive aggressive about everything. Negative experiences are rare, but they happen. One time, after getting a horrible massage, I had to go out and get...a massage.

 

When I find a regular great guy, I'm loyal and will stay for years. The best two I ever had got out of the business for various reasons. Bummer.

In the past ten years I've seen him about 6 or 7 times - usually in NYC once in Boston. The massage is great - no doubt about it. He has an incredible body and very handsome face. His personality is more 'militant' with me, and I find that sexy. I recently saw RyanWest in Philly. My experience accords with most of the reviews here. Great, expert massage. RyanWest did the 69 flip at the end. He's not a talker. He's not expecially friendly. But booked him for a massage after all and not an 'escort' experience. Another plus: he's utterly direct and reliable in communicating. Also, his fees are as advertised. There's no "ask me" BS. I'd see him again I think.

looking back, my only gripe was feeling a bit rushed at the end and the disconnect.

I wonder if booking 90 minutes or 2 hours might make he slow down a bit.

No. Don't think so.  With him, it's quantity, not quality.  He's not warm and fuzzy.  He travels into town to make as much $$$$$ as he can to pay for his medical schooling. Not my style.

I agree that perhaps he doesn't look exactly as lean, and his face perhaps looks slightly "older", he is at that age where changes start to be noticeable..but I think (at least last September) that he still looks very fit and hot if you like that kind of mature muscular daddy kind of man.

sadly, I think you're right. I recall him being a bit rushed at the beginning like he was trying to hurry up and that feeling never went away throughout. I guess more time would be more of the same feeling.

I was recently visiting the Tempe, AZ, area when Ryan also came to the ASU campus. The building he’s staying in has a Whole Foods on the ground floor, so he advised me to park in their parking garage. This got everything off on the wrong foot, as a security guard who was patrolling the parking area came over and made sure that I went down to the store. Meanwhile, Ryan was trying to find out where I was and how/where to find me. Consequently, I was late for my appointment.

Anyway, I agree with others who found his massage somewhat mechanical. There were no “sensual” touches, no interaction that I was expecting from the “mutual touch OK” line in his ad. There was no massaging after I turned over onto my back; just an awkward attempt at a happy ending which really wasn’t very happy. Then: get off the table, get dressed, get out. I didn’t mind that his face and physique are larger and thicker than in his photos (‘roids?), but overall I was disappointed with the experience and definitely wouldn’t repeat.
