Do any states have laws regarding photographing or video recording without the explicit consent of the other party? For example, there are some states that allow vocal tapes to be made without the consent of the other party.

Arizona allows secret audio recording as long as at least one of the people being recorded knows it (that one person presumably being the person who wants to do the recording in the first place ;)).......is it safe to assume this extends to video??

I assume several other states have similar "one person" laws allowing secret recording

I would assume that it also applied to videos but I would not assume anything under the law. They may have some crazy reason to have it for one and not the other. Sometimes it is as stupid as forgetting to include it.

Same as @rvwnsd, I've had several escorts ask me to take their pictures

Mostly shirtless for them to post on their profiles and most enjoy posing for the camera!

Whenever I take any pictures most are headless for privacy and always offer send them all the photos....it's always based on respect no secret snaps and I have had a few of them decline and no harm no foul

I've only done it once and that was very recently. I had such a great time that as I was leaving out for work and he was reclining back in bed I asked if I could take a couple of pics to remember my great evening with him and he readily agreed. In retrospect I wish I had taken more! I immediately moved the pics from my iPhone (and all linked devices) and keep them in a private Dropbox folder.

California is what is known as a 2-party state, meaning that both parties have to consent. Videos that don't contain audio are less stringently controlled (because the laws are archaic and deal primarily with audio recording) but if the person has a reasonable expectation of privacy (like in a bedroom or bathroom), that secret recording would be illegal. California Penal Code Section 632

I was on a trip and the escort took photos of us!

I have only ever taken photos of an escort at the escort’s own request. That always comes as a bit of a surprise—I’m shy about pushing the discretion envelope in that way—but it has happened more than once. And with one muscle-guy I see regularly, it has become a routine (and kinda steamy) part of our sessions.

Even in one party states, I think (and I'm not a lawyer) filming an intimate encounter would be considered illegal. It's one thing to have a camera on your front door, it's another to have one in the bedroom. You can be filmed in public (i.e. walking down a street) without consent, but videos in bathrooms, fitting rooms, locker rooms, and so on have been ruled an invasion of privacy.

There was a rash of 'revenge porn' postings, if I recall correctly, most were considered illegal. If not the filming, the distribution.

Yes, filming encounters is A LOT different then taking photos!

Filming someone without their knowledge is super creepy and most importantly an invasion of privacy

I never hired for sex, so I've only clicked photos of my favorites flexing and posing for me and always offer to give them copies if they want

Several of my photos actually appeared on their rentmen profiles. :)

Only those that had the privilege of being in that dungeon in North Jersey will ever know exactly what went on there. ;)

With home security cameras ubiquitous I think the whole one-party vs 2-party consent thing is archaic. Like almost everyone else I know, I have cameras around my house and covering every room and entrance. Yes, there's absolutely one in my bedroom. I woke up a few months ago with someone standing by my bed in a housebreaking. I had plenty of HD video of him and so did my neighbor who he had broken into an hour earlier. The neighborhood listserve turned up 2 more security cams of him. I tracked his home location with my phone he had stolen using Google Find My Device. We gave everything to police and they got a search warrant and found tons of stolen stuff at his apartment, including many of our things (he took laptops and cellphones mostly).

Can this guy sue me for invasion of privacy. I don't think so.

I also have plenty of footage of sex all over the house with my few regulars. My #1 likes sex for 4 hours on sofas, coffee tables, dining tables, as well as beds. I got him the same security system for his house (he's a Marine and has 2 kids) and we help each other in tech stuff on our cams. He knows they're there. There's also signs on every entrance door and on the house that there are constant security cams operating. Yes I have cloud video of sex with him and a few others. Yes it's the best porn I have.

These HD security cams cost about $25 on Amazon and take 10 minutes to install. And they make great porn. But they're security cams and they're everywhere.

@tassojunior I agree your bugler can't sue for invasion of privacy, he was only in your bedroom for the commission of an illegal act. I'm a little less sure I agree at this point (but I am open to discussion) if 2 party consent should be reduced to 1 in all cases. I have had private discussions with friends that I would be embarrassed if they were revealed.

I also have no problem with situations with your regular who is aware he is being filmed. That is a choice you both made.

I would be upset (and to be clear, I do _not_ think you would do this, it's just an example) if you and I had an encounter in your bedroom and you filmed it without my knowledge. Since you have signs posted at your doors, some of the burden shifts to me. Do this say cameras are active in the bedroom? I could see where following you home I'm more focused on your ass than signs warning me I'm about to enter a surveilled house. I guess I'm just wondering about the logistics.

Thats why I say the 1 party

/2 party thing is impossible now. Security cameras are everywhere recording everybody. If you go anywhere you impliedly give consent as there are few places you are not being recorded.

I keep the audio turned off on mine in case there is a 2Party rule on voice recording.

I've only asked two escorts to take photos of them. Both of them were men I had hired numerous times. I made it clear to both of them that I would not share the photos with anyone else (and I have kept my word), though I did share the photos of one man with him and he ended up using a couple of them in his ads. While one of the guys had lots of photos online and I had saved what he used in his ads, I am glad the other guy let me take a couple of photos of him since they still serve as a nice memento of a very sexy and nice young man I had the pleasure of spending time with numerous times throughout his undergraduate studies. He only ever advertised on Craigslist a few times and used a small photo that was blurry, so that wasn't particularly nice to look at when I wanted to remind myself of him.

I do tend to save photos from ads of every guy I hire -- sometimes to remember a positive experience but other times just to remind myself that I hired a particular guy if I notice his ad again down the road. I would never ask to take a photo of a guy unless I had already become a repeat client.
