There are guys that advertise as both masseurs and escorts - if you pay the escort fee, and if you make your request clear - "I want a genuine massage for teh first 45 minutes (or 75).. then the escort experience." Some of those double-threats would be happy to accommodate you.

This is the second time I see this word used like this on this forum in just 2 weeks. Is it a misspelling of double treat or an American thing to call something good a “threat “?

It is kinda funny, @Tarte Gogo, but "threat" is the correct term in this expression. I've actually never seen double-threat used, but triple threat is commonly used to describe very talented people in both sports (i.e. a baseball player who has speed, can hit and is a great fielder) or, being the theatre queen that I am, to describe a performer who can act, sing and dance (i.e. Sutton Foster :p). English... it's whacky!

Several guys on this site have PM’d me to ask if I could share details of my experiences with a certain masseur in Phoenix. After explaining to one guy that the masseur no longer advertises an erotic option, but that he still offers it to me, the guy asked, “What makes you so special? Are you hot or something?” LOL Well, I’m in good shape for my age (old enough to be the masseur’s father), but I think we just hit it off from the first time I went to him, and I’m guessing that he doesn’t necessarily do with others - especially new clients - what he does with me.

@Tarte Gogo It's not uncommon to call someone who is a successful actor, singer, and dancer - for instance - a triple-threat. An athlete who performs well at both football and baseball could be a double-threat. I've always felt threat in this case has a connotation of 'formidable competitor' - rather than an intent of some hostile action.

 

I think in gay terms it's because we all saw the special when Ann Margaret used it referring to Cher ;)
