As I was reminiscing how awesome it was to play whirlyball (right before getting some Taco Bueno) when I was in Dallas over a decade ago, it made me think of other sports that may not be so well-known but would be fun to play (or for some of them - fun to watch in person). I can't think of many, but I think equestrian and maybe events with mixed doubles - like badminton and tennis and couple competitions like pairs skating and ice dance?

I do not know if we have this capability on this site - perhaps a poll with some key questions might help?

While not starting until late July, I cannot wait to tune in to some awesome competitive sports, and looking forward to the following: Simone Biles dominating women's gymnastics Sam Mikulak hopefully getting out of his own head and just having a great time in men's all-around gymnastics and winning at an event. Tom Daley and David Boudia in men's diving...and really concentrating on TV hoping to see some speedo slips ? Everything swimming How about you? Anything in particular you're excited to see?

Created a table on my original post to log those who volunteered and those who are nominated. Let's take nominations or volunteers until Friday, 05/21/2021. I will send a private message to the list of individuals who signed up to be on the steering committee to schedule a zoom call to align on tasks that need to be established, including but not limited to, transition plan with Orin and Team Washington, vision, draft steering committee charter, duties and responsibilities, implementation roadmap.

Has anyone met up with Boston Miles recently (the recent convo I saw about him was in 2011, so wasn't going to be petty and revive that thread)? I was having a lovely exchange with Dante Colle and when I mentioned doing a flip scene with him, he said that Boston Miles "is taken now and does not play like that anymore." I checked RM and looked like his membership was frozen too - so not sure if that's just because of the pandemic or he's really left the industry, including RM. If that's the case, then perhaps he'll fall under this list for me now.

Thanks to the great work of @Orin, @RadioRob, @JEC and "Team Washington" that we are still being able to enjoy the forum. I do want to make sure that @Orin's question is being answered - who will own and run the forum? I think for the forum to collectively get to this answer - we might need the following data points: what specific accountabilities and responsibilities are required to "own and run the forum" what type of organizational structure, including transition and succession planning, does there need to be in place to sustainably run the forum? is said structure defined with people aligned to it? there are certainly other factors - such as how do we continuously fund to support this forum - that need to be answered, but at the least, if we have answers to those two bullets, we can have transparency into what "the job" entails and can solicit volunteers who would want to step in and step up to the responsibility.
