And yes I'd say the majority of guys do respond to chat messages on there and will provide their phone number. Guys who don't post it usually just are trying to weed out scammers and flakes. If they don't reply to chat messages on there they usually have an auto reply message set up to have you text them instead. Personally as well I like having all my stats and info about myself on my client page so it saves the provider from asking about all that. Go to "Account Settings" and then click on "Content View Behavior" and you can choose the option of when you open a thread to have it take you to the first comment, last comment, or first comment you haven't read yet which sounds like the option you want. But you'd have to first back out of the thread that you viewed your post that got the reaction and click on it normally.
