  1. Yes I do think so…. I’m a masseur, so I think I encounter less flakes than I would if I advertised as an escort, but there are flakes in every service based business. The key is figuring out the best way to navigate that part of the business in a healthy way. It’s trick, but I’ve been able to do that, so it’s definitely possible.
  2. I do not advertise during November and December because of the holidays, so my ad isn't active, but here is my link. https://rentmasseur.com/Cannon
  3. If it is important to you that he likes the underwear, then my suggestion is to cash app him and have him buy the underwear himself. A guy once showed up with 10 pairs of underwear for me to wear for him, and I did not like a single pair, so to avoid that happening to you, it’s best to just let him buy the underwear himself. And yes I think you should compensate him for the time it will take for him to do that.
  4. I don't mean to be indelicate,I identify as Black, not a person of color and I do not know what everyday activities are more uniquely hazardous today for Black people specifically (I cant speak on any other demographics). I know there is a narrative out there but it isn’t supported by statistics. Regardless, as a masseur, you have to take precaution no matter what, regardless of your color. Bad things happen to providers and masseurs all the time, from the mundane, to sexual assault, and even murder. Stephen Port, a white man murdered at least 4 gay white escorts between to 2014 and 2015, and his victims being caucasian did not protect them from getting murdered. And that's just one example of countless of these things happening that are underreported, frankly. So, I never suggested anyone should not be cautious. Everyone has to be, because bad things can happen to all of us, but there is absolutely nothing to support the idea that a Black escort would be exposed to anymore danger than a white one. Im speaking from my own experience that I have not had problems with racism when 'Ive traveled. I still have to fly out of state for some overnight clients, and I will continue to do that, and I’m not going to employ a “unique” or special caution specifically for racism, as if the prospect of racism is worse than any of the many other bad things that could happen to a massuer. Im judicious and cautions, but I don't live in fear or make decisions rooted in it. The minute you do, is the minute you give your power away. Hell, If I let the concern for racism deter me, I would probably never leave the house, since you could encounter that at your local grocery store. If I’m asked to travel somewhere and it makes sense business wise and I want to go, then I go. Rest assured, I am more than prepared for anyone who would be trouble for me regardless of the motives and I would encourage others to take their own precautions and use discernment as they ALL should with ANY client.
  5. He sounds like a nightmare and the way you describe him sounds like he is a drug user. This may be a polarizing thing to say, but I just think that there is a greater likelihood of trouble with clients or providers who are drug users. My recommendation would be to leave a review to help spare someone else the trouble. I have never been in a situation where I felt like I was in danger from a client, but I'm always cautious and on guard.
  6. I’m a masseur, and I don’t think you have anything to worry about. I don’t want clients approaching me in public and based on other discussions in this forum and other masseurs I know, many others feel the same because we are discreet about our massage business. The desire for discretion comes from both the client and the masseur.
  7. I don’t know if my experience is typical but I personally have never encountered racism while I’ve been working. Although, I’m aware you can find racism in any state, and any city if you look for it. I dont tour cities anymore but when I did, I had no concerns about going to any city, I just went where the clients were, regardless of the demographic makeup. I have clients on all ends of the political spectrum. A good client is a good client, so I never judge a city by its politically leanings or demographics. I selected the cities based on which areas would be most profitable for me and never experienced that kind of negativity.
  8. I just booked my hotel, I will be there.
  9. It doesn’t bother me but I definitely prefer going straight to the client’s hotel room.
  10. I absolutely loved working in San Francisco!!
  11. Disclaimer: I'm only speaking from my experience, LA could be someone else's favorite place to work, and my favorite city could be someone else's least favorite. I chose LA as my least favorite because there are cons in the business like any other business, but in my experience, the cons are much more prevalent in LA in comparison to the other cities I've worked in. Business is great in LA, and the weather is beautiful, and some of my best clients I've met in LA, but I have encountered more unstable people (literal crazies) than in any other city. There is an expression that LA is the land of fruits and nuts, and I totally see what they mean. Also, LA is kind of known for having a lot of flakes just in general, so it was working in LA that taught me that I had to learn how to screen out those people within the first 1 or 2 messages in order to avoid them. With that being said, I just don't have to filter out as many people in other cities, whether its New York, London, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, Palm Springs, Seattle, Utah, or Sydney, Australia.
  12. My least favorite is a tie between San Diego & Los Angeles. Its a challenge to pick a favorite and I dont travel outside of California anymore, but I’ve loved working the other cities that I’ve visited.
  13. I, personally made the decision not to date for as long as I have a massage business. With that being said, my personal recommendation for providers and masseurs who do date is to reveal what you do within your first 1 or 2 conversations (ideally the first one) when you’re discussing what each of you does for a living. I recommend getting any potential dealbreakers out of the way as soon as possible. That way, no time is wasted.
  14. I’m going to add one more thing because this just occurred this evening. If somebody sends me a text that just says “hi” or “hey”, I do not respond because that suggests to me that it is going to be a longwinded back and forth that may not even go anywhere, and it also suggests that he is indecisive, since he could’ve just said, “Hi, Im looking for a 60 minute massage this evening. Are you available between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm?”...all in 1 text. Being direct and saving time is tremendously underrated.
  15. I’m definitely considering going to Palm Springs mid November.
  16. I think the certainty and possible stability of it for a time period are big advantages. Minimum expectations for me are that my financial needs are met. That I'm treated with respect and not expected to do anything to compromise my health or safety. I also would not be able to do this with anyone who smokes or uses drugs.
  17. If I get a bad vibe, or if they say something offensive or off-putting.
  18. I haven't been influenced by a client, but I have a client who works in politics with Presidents so he shared some great stories. I actually find that I have been more of an influence on clients than they have been on me. I've had clients say that I've inspired them to be healthier, eat cleaner, or look at things a different way, and I've also introduced them to film and music that they really loved.
  19. I actually commented about this on another post. I do not travel. The only exception is if 1 client is flying me to their location which I am totally okay with, but I do not tour like a lot of companions and masseurs do, because just like you touched on in your post, traveling would begin to feel like work, and I want traveling to remain an enjoyable pastime for myself.
