A total guess on my part , but I always have assumed RM shows the expired profile if the provider simply stopped paying the monthly RM fee and shows an error or “page not found” message if the provider literally completely deletes their membership.

In this case, I agree it's true! In general it's wrong -- unless they are people in power (politicians, corporate executives, critics/influencers) who make hypocritical statements about LGBTQ+ issues. Speaking truth to power is a trait to be admired.
