  1. Yes, the Pope is Argentinian. But Eichman was German, rather than Italian
  2. They all appear quite striking, particularly ArQuez... IMHO. Are you at all concerned that ArQuez does not list anything in his 'intos' that would suggest an escort experience?
  3. It's difficult to have a positive attitude in that situation, but important nonetheless. Sometimes we are just one good or bad decision away from a life-changing occurence.
  4. Just to clarify, Diana and Charles were divorced in August 1996 - a year before her death. I'm not sure when her relationship with Dodi began, but at the time of her death she was no longer matrimonially connected to Charles.
  5. I'm not suggesting that we need to know whether Guy has a DNR - that's nobody's business but his and whomever he would want to know. What I meant is that generally speaking, if a person has a DNR it is good for someone to know about it. When a relative was diagnosed with a terminal illness, he made sure that a number of us knew that he had a DNR. Just in case he was incapacitated those of us on his contact list could let the hospital know. That's all I was meaning.
  6. I think it's important to know if a DNR or other type of directive is in place even in cases when the situation may not be dire. Things can unfortunately become unstable very quickly, so the more informed the medical staff is, the more likely they can stay true to a patient's wishes. If he does not have family handy or easy to reach, it may be that they wouldn't know if a directive exists anyway. Two weeks on a ventilator is serious of course, but not unheard of - lets hope his body is using this time to heal effectively.
  7. Which auction house sold Queen Mary's items, if you happen to know? I follow Sotheby's, Christies and a couple of others, but don't recall seeing anything of hers...
  8. I doubt he could use Wales or Sussex, but Mountbatten-Windsor may be a likely choice. He could rock the boat a bit by changing Mountbatten back to Battenberg...
  9. I feel like I should buy him a hamburger or two.
  10. He should probably invest in a travel consultant... no need for all that zigzagging...lol.
  11. I think non-Canadians can still fly in, but like @Benjamin_Nicholas noted, there is a quarantine period. Land borders remain closed to all but essential crossings.
  12. Hmmm... possibly, but he would have been in his late 90s when Diana died. I think he would have encouraged thd marriage to Diana, and turned a blind eue yo Charles's philandering.
  13. I think your words are accurate.
  14. I just want a six-burner gas stove, steam oven and a walk-in pantry...
  15. What happened to Diana was tragic. She was an amazing person, but she was not a saint. The media portrayed her as victim, but she was more multidimensional than that. The marriage to Charles should not have happened, and the fallout from that decision had repurcussions for the whole family.
  16. Any detatched house under a million dollars in Toronto or Vancouver would be an incredible find ?
  17. In Proverbs. 'Pride goes before destruction and a haughty (arrogant) spirit before a fall' I think. My grandfather taught Sunday school, so we heard many a verse
  18. Thank you I am happy she made a statement so quickly, and I think she nailed it.
  19. Really? That's great I haven't seen it - do you have a link?
  20. True enough, but she was a commoner and the daughter of an Earl - while she was no doubt in the top 1% of the social strata it was a far cry from being royal. The chasm between the Monarchy and the rest of the aristocracy is pretty vast, and I think both sides prefer it that way for the most part.
  21. Bump...
  22. Ad has disappeared?
  23. Not so sure... I have met straight couples who look eerily similar. Particularly after being together a long time.
  24. Yeah, I find it hard to believe that there was no inkling of what might be required. She's a smart cookie. But I also think marrying into the Firm would be overwhelming for anyone not raised to be 'royal'. The general acceptance of ennobled commoners marrying into the Royal Family is barely 100 years old, let alone people without any aristocratic background. Even Princess Margaret apparently held her own royal birth over her mother's head, who, though Queen Consort and the daughter of an Earl, was 'made' royal rather than 'born' royal. Ego upon ego upon ego.
