Before anyone asks, I see a '58 Ford and '47 or '48 Pontiac in the background.

My phone silences calls from anyone who is not in my contacts list, and I can't imagine that there is anyone in my contacts who would call me during the night without a very good reason.

I just finished Vaclav Smil's How the World Really Works, and it is one of the most enlightening books I have ever read, since it succinctly explains exactly what the subtitle says: The Science Behind How We Got Here and Where We're Going. Smil recognizes a truism of human nature, that most people want a simple answer to how to solve an extremely complex problem, in this case global warming and its consequences, and shows why the simple answers--like persuading everyone to switch to driving electric vehicles--don't work. He points out that there are other simple answers that would actually have much more impact--like banning the production of anything made with plastic, or making raising of meat for food a worldwide criminal offense--that are obviously impossible. The modern world as we know it is totally dependent on the utilization of fossil fuels, and will be until far into the future, since we can't give up electricity, steel, air transportation and fertilizers for growing food, all of which are heavily dependent on the burning of fossil fuels, without radically altering our global economy and lifestyles in ways that few people will put up with. It is not a particularly long book, but every paragraph is packed with facts. It also demands that the reader have a high tolerance for statistical analysis, because the book is loaded with math, with many references to subjects measured in things like terabytes and gigajoules. (For those who need it, there is a whole chapter devoted to explaining the mathematical terminology.) There are also 71 pages of footnotes and references for everything covered in the text. Since I used to teach a course in writing research papers, I am a sucker for footnotes and bibliographies, but even if you skip over them, you will learn a lot.

Jankovic and Rios actually made slam finals, they just didn't win one.

Wasn't the historical Casanova a top?

I am attracted to male body parts that are hairy, so unless there is a lot of bush, the penis is not of particular interest to me. And I am a card-carrying homosexual.

Too many people only think about food at Thanksgiving and Xmas, but people need to eat all year round. The money I used to spend on escorts I now give to two local food banks every month.

Yes, I did see that movie. I still thought the bars were safer than the streets as a place to pick up guys. -

I grew up thinking that gay bars were the safest places to find someone to go home with. What a different world it's become. -
I use Avast VPN, but I'm getting tired of the constant pop-ups promoting other Avast products.

One of the best known of all professional tennis coaches, and one of the only ones in the Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, has died at 91. Many of his famous pupils are in the Hall of Fame with him, and several more will be as soon as they are eligible for induction.

The Ramrod was the site of a notorious attack by a psychotic former cop, who shot several men outside the bar one night in 1980. Two people were killed and several wounded, including a friend of mine who was lightly wounded.

Thanks. I new it was a Chevy, but I couldn't think of the model. Something kept distracting me.

Every time I look at that photo, I draw a blank on the car, but I keep staring and staring....

Can Older Men Still Have Quality Experiences?
+ Charlie replied to + Lucky's topic in Questions About Hiring
A straight escort who is willing to have sex with men is probably not too concerned with how old the client is, unless he is worried that the client might have physical problems or even expire during the session. -
It hasn't happened me on my desktop, but I never access this site on my phone.

Although the same sex households in which the couple are married is obviously a marker of gay relationships, the same sex households in which the two persons are not married could consist simply of friends who live together, or even siblings (e.g., two unmarried or widowed sisters), and the unmarried households are 41% of the whole. Nevertheless, the trend is encouraging.

I gave most of my copies of Drum to a gay archive a number of years ago, and this is not one of the few copies that I saved (copies with photos of people I knew, like my domestic partner at that time, who appeared on the back cover of one of them, or articles that I wanted for my memory bank). Drum was published by Clark Polak, one of my closest friends in the 1960s, and I proofread and helped distribute some of the magazines. I also knew Bob Anthony, one of the photographers whose work he often used.

Probably a Ford product from the 1940s, but not enough visual info to tell which one.

If you have a regular doctor, call their office and ask them what to do. They may know of another resource besides the chain drug stores.

Now that's the style I was actually looking for. I plan to sleep in them, not entertain.

Although we got our flu shots in our doctor's office, he does not have the COVID boosters. When we were in the office for something else last week, he asked if we had got the latest booster yet, and when I said we hadn't, he told us we could get it at the hospital's pharmacy as walk-ins, so we went right over there, and got the booster immediately, after filling out a simple form. BTW, one of our elderly neighbors, who didn't want to get the flu shot, is now hospitalized with the flu, and another neighbor has been waiting three days for gall bladder surgery, because the hospital is overwhelmed with patients.

I tried to buy a pair of classic men's two piece pajamas yesterday, the kind adult men were always depicted wearing when I was younger, and they were almost impossible to find as I went from store to store. I finally found a Christmas-themed pair at Target, but It made me wonder: What do YOU wear when you go to bed alone? For most of my adult life I have slept naked, whether with someone else or alone, but recently it has been chilly in the house when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom (yeah, I'm old), and I don't like to sleep in my underwear, so I thought it would be cozy to have a pair of pajamas.

I have Spectrum for Internet and cable, and their service for me has been average, but many of my neighbors complain about them constantly.
