+ ArVaGuy got a reaction from + nycman in Any luck with hotel staff?
This was back in the early 1990s when I was working for a real estate trade association. We were holding an event for real estate developers during pre-opening of a historic restoration of a property in New Orleans. The property was the former DH Holmes Department Store that had been converted to a Chateau Sonesta hotel. Today that property is the Hyatt French Quarter.

I arrived late in the evening during a thunderstorm. There was some flooding issues on Canal Street and the hotel lobby was partly under water. The hotel was in pre-opening mode just getting ramped up and had only a skeleton crew that time of night.

The front desk manager was a tall, dark haired guy about my age, late twenties. It was practically kismet. We connected quickly and were seriously cruising each other. Meanwhile the lone bellman was busy mopping up the lobby and trying to keep the rain at bay. Front Desk Guy offers to take me up to my room and tells the bellman to continue dealing with the flooding and not to worry no other guests were expected to Check-In.

Cut to the room, which was actually a suite, and no sooner had the door shut that we then grabbed each other and stated making out. We then proceeded to do what two horny gay 20 somethings do and tore up the sheets like the dickens. It was intense. It was dangerous, we both could have gotten fired if caught. It was a blast.

Next day was business as usual as we both went about our respective jobs. We didn’t hook up again as I was leaving later in the day as this was a short trip.

Upon my return to the office I wrote a letter to the General Manager praising Front Desk Guy for his outstanding customer service and going beyond expectations to welcome a guest to this new hotel. Ah,,,memories. ?

I’d like to thank everyone who made the effort to attend this year’s Forum gathering at MAL. Especially @sam.fitzpatrick and @purplekow who traveled from their respective states to participate. Special thanks to @VictorPowers for making it to the Hyatt Sunday afternoon despite a logistical issue. Victor, you looked hot in that singlet ????.

The brunch was a smaller group than in recent years similar to the first year when there was only about six people. Our group may have been smaller but the conversation was lively and dynamic. Sharing experiences and having a few laughs is what these events are all about. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.

As PK alluded, I will not be hosting in 2021 due to the Inauguration. It’s my practice to leave town that week due to the security issues. Regardless if the incumbent is re-elected or not there will be a serious lockdown and I just don’t plan to deal with any of it. A warm and sunny resort as far away from DC as possible will be my plan.

The dates for MAL 2021 will be January 22-25 following the Inauguration. If anyone wants to pick up the ball and run with organizing I will be happy to offer perspectives.

    Thanks

I have arrived back home and wanted to say how great it was joining the others in Washington this weekend. I don't think I could provide a better summary that @purplekow, so I will not attempt to do so. And thank you @ArVaGuy for your masterful coordination. To the others in attendance, thank you for joining. Until the next time....

Thanks for the great weekend in DC to ArVaGuy for planning. I enjoyed hanging at the IML hotel where men were men and leather was aplenty. A nice dinner at an Italian Restaurant and a brief stop at a local gay bar which was flooded with bachelorettes in shiny tops and screeching voices, was probably not the best choice but we quickly hit the exit to go to Secrets. We arrived early and were able to search out a perch to view most of the going ons and the going offs. We were right near the shower which turned out to be key location. The were at least 5 or 6 dancers of the buff and bulky type which are my preference and there seemed to be a flavor for every taste. While rules of the club do not allow touching from the waist to the knees, this was fine for me. I like the allure of being close but not actually touching. The luncheon the next day at Annies had a small group of eight or nine. This was fewer than in past years but the conversation flowed smoothly and I enjoyed the food and the company. All the others in attendance seemed to be enjoying themselves as well.
If this is the last of these parties, it has been a good run. ArVa will not be available to host next year, so if there is a DC denizen or another person who would like to continue this tradition, that would be lovely. Again, thank to ArVa for his work this year and in the past.

Careful guys. Don’t criticize him too much. He posted the same thread the other day in The Deli and when everyone criticized him for not wanting to pay the provider because he seemed to enjoy it too much and calling him selfish because he got off first, he got his panties in a twist and had the admin completely remove the thread.

My final post there was basically that the provider delivered the services promised and that he was the selfish one. When no one agrees with your position, maybe you need to rethink it, realize your displeasure and frustration with the provider is misplaced, and come back and admit it. It’s called being an adult. Instead, he repeatedly tried to justify his position, everyone called him out, and he went running to the admins.

If you don’t want the provider enjoying himself, stay home and invest in a Fleshlight.

You didn’t have any problems with the first session, right?

    1) we aren’t machines
    2) consider yourself lucky that he enjoyed himself with you (and remember how this made you feel versus some lukewarm future hire where the guy feels like he is going through the motions)
    3) ask him to leave / stand your ground

this post is wild lol -

    Per annual tradition:

    Revenue decreased 6% from 2018.

35% of 2019 revenue came from the year’s top three clients, down from 47% in 2018. Revenue from all other accounts rose 20%.

I’ve sent PM messages and an email to all who indicated interest in the gathering. I don’t have everyones email so please send it if you haven’t already. The gathering is going to be smaller than last year as weather and member availability have had an impact on attending.

I have my travel and hotel booked but I could not get anything too close to the host hotel. Staying at Madera. It was inexpensive but a Kimpton, which I have found to give you a nice stay for an inexpensive price.
