  1. I first became aware of Matthew Goode in the Discovery Of Witches miniseries a few years back. I read the books, and I liked the series. But I had some problems with it. The protagonist Diana was played by Australian actress Teresa Palmer. For some reason I thought her acting was really awkward until the last season. I don't know why. As for Matthew Goode who played the vampire love interest-maybe I'm just too influenced by the covers of romance novel bodice rippers (I don't read them (believe me or not🤓) -only see them -or used to see them rather when I'd go to the bookstore or magazine section of the drugstore), but I never thought he looked hunky/ripped enough. But he's in a new police procedural about cold case files in Scotland called Department Q. It's on Netflix. I've seen the 1st two episodes, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm also digging the beard big time.
  2. I think I preferred The Big Valley over Bonanza. I remember TBV more from afternoon reruns than when it was actually on. But my recollection-which is probably extremely biased-is that Lee Majors was stripped of his shirts a lot more often than Pernell Roberts and Michael Landon were. And by the time TBV reruns were on in my early and late pre-teens, that was very important to me.
  3. Oh I thought I had replied. Thanks for keeping me on task. It was only ok. I was expecting more flavor. But my tastebuds seem to be a bit dulled lately. So I don't know if it's due to that. But for bread made with molasses as well as instant coffee, I was expecting a stronger flavor. Now I did a few things I know were wrong. #1 I didn't gently scoop the flour into a nested measuring cup. I went ahead and 'dug' the flour out by entering the bag of flour, so I probably had too much flour. #2 The recipe called for Active Dry Yeast I used 'quick' Bread Machine Yeast. You are supposed to decrease the yeast by about a 1/4th when using changing over I didn't. #3 I probably should have reshaped the loaf after the 1st knead. But it wasn't horrible for my first try with a new (used) machine. I'm going to look for a hopefully better recipe though. Next up on the agenda is either a different recipe pumpernickel or a rosemary-cheese bread. I forgot to take a picture of the innards.

  5. This is long but funny. In case you aren't familiar with this comedian, he has a hearing impairment and wears hearing aids.
  6. While I have no specific knowledge, that seems unlikely to me. A large proportion of 'plastic' surgeries aren't covered by insurance as they aren't medically necessary. But people pay for them anyway. Same thing with hair transplants.
  7. When I was in grad school in the early 90's, a dermatologist told me she thought there'd be a cure for baldness in the future. I'm obviously not talking about surgery. As someone who has been mostly bald since the early 1990's, I'm still waiting. 😖😖
  8. Sometimes they're correct, and sometimes they aren't. I was testing a site out a few years ago. I put in one of my niece's info. Everything was correct except her age.
  9. Well the BFE may or may not be a marketing ploy. But that doesn't necessarily mean that escorts don't offer it if they say they do, some not offer it though they promise to, and/or some offer it in person when not mentioned in their ad. I mean everyone's personality is different. There are obviously going to be some guys who are more nurturing and some who are more wham-bam-thank you sir. And of course it's possible for an escort who doesn't feel that way-to fake it for the duration of the meeting. Or on the other hand I'm sure it's equally possible for an escort who feels more empathy to act cold and clinical if he senses the client prefers that. And there are all permutations of the above. As for escort rates, they're bananas. I'm not saying that it isn't an extremely difficult career. But the rates have exceeded the cost of living so much. When I was hiring from 2002 to 2016-I was often able to have a two hour session for say $325. I could often get a Friday to Sunday weekend with an escort for $1800 or if extending until Monday $2000 to $2200. When I had a career before it imploded, I had a low 6 figure salary. I frequently hired once or twice a week-or maybe more commonly every 2nd or 3 week. But even if I had that salary now, I'm sure I'd be hiring a lot less. I could justify $325 or $350 for a 2 hour meeting -there's no way I could see to routinely dropping $400 to $600 on a biweekly or even weekly basis. Interesting side note-and I can't remember how the subject came up to begin with-my mother when I was in high school or college -possibly in response to a TV program or documentary-said she didn't think prostitution should be illegal. I actually revisited the subject with her a few years back. And she said pretty much the same thing-although I'm almost 100% positive she doesn't know that her little Gman (that's what she calls me🤓🤓) has hired in the past.

  12. Thank you. Was I correct about complacent' meaning agreeable?

I've seen this fairly frequently. Would this mean 'agreeable'? But he also says 'morbo,' and all I can find for that is something to do with illness. I'm assuming there may be a slang meaning that I can't find.

  15. But I don't think as a child I would have had any inkling of that. It premiered in 1964 when I was 3 years old. I might not remember the first season or two except from the afternoon reruns. But I'm sure by the age of 5 that I was watching and enjoying it without any idea of the number of gay actors in it. It ended when I was 11. At that point I knew I was attracted to musclemen. But I probably didn't even really know about the birds and bees at that point. Funny story -about that same time period --1972 my family often drove from our smaller city in the more northern part of Texas back to our ancestral homeland of Dallas. Somewhere near Dallas -possibly towards Denton-was a farm or ranch named 'Gay Acres.' We drove by it, and my 17 year old brother started laughing his head off. Being the inquisitive 11 year old that I was, I asked what was so funny. My mother explained it was the word 'gay'. I asked what it meant. She replied that it referred to people with 'hormonal problems.' Now keep in mind that I was 11-and while the birds and the bees might have been doing it-little Gman was ignorant of what 'it' was. So a few months later -some more knowledgeable soul in my 5th grade class -a guy named Roger if I'm remembering correctly -never really liked Roger by the way-brought up something about people being gay. I said oh I know what that is. It's people with 'hormonal problems'. Well apparently Roger knew a bit more about those darn birds and bees than I did. I'm thinking little Gman was quite embarrassed that day. PS-I do have some vague memories of being attracted to Dick York-might have been his slicked back hair. And possibly also David White -but that's an even vaguer recollection, so maybe not.
  16. I've been told a lot of "us" really liked the TV Show Bewitched. At least I did. And that was long before I knew or really thought about being gay. And I don't think it had anything to do -or not much -with wanting to live in a world where I could magic my problems away. At least not more than your everyday child who wanted things to go his way. So did straight boys/men now like the show as well? I mean it was one of my favorite TV shows for years. And if straight boys didn't like it-I wonder why.
