By the way @BriansBodywork, I don’t think there’s always a great correlation between # of reviews on RM and how much I end up loving a particular masseur’s ability.

My husband had a appointment for monkeypox. I went with him and asked if they had any no shows or cancellations this morning. They had a couple people that did not show up so they gave me the vaccine. I was trying to book an appointment for weeks.
I would just go with friends that have appointments and ask if it's been any cancellations. It worked for me and a whole bunch of my friends.

FYI for those in NYC.  Been checking the nyc vax site a few times a day. This morning around 8am the system had 1 appointment at 1030a, so I snagged it.  Ubered to Staten Island.  Went right in, no line, hardly anybody in waiting room, got the shot and was out. Easy. Some amount of luck, yes, but just so you NYers know.  People do cancel and slots open up.

Do we have any doctors or infectious disease experts on here? I’m wondering what the risk is for the person getting a massage if the masseur has had the monkeypox vaccine.

Will and Drew are a pair you don’t want to miss. I realize a 4-hand massage comes at a price beyond what many can or choose to pay, but I suggest you buy less of anything else or get a 2nd job so you can experience what they do. It was the first time I splurged for their duo massage, but it won’t be the last.
Such a loving couple and they genuinely share that with their clients.  Great skills, great vibe.

I just wish Jorge could adapt a bit more. I asked for lighter pressure each time I saw him, but he always returned to very strong pressure—so strong that it was painful. Still a very nice guy though, and I’d recommend him as long as you’re okay with strong pressure.
I’m adding to this thread Marco, whom I mentioned elsewhere on a similar thread. I saw him frequently pre-pandemic, and I saw him last fall for the first time since the pandemic. He offers soft, slow, soothing strokes for a truly sensual experience.

A few people have PMd me about their pricing. $250/hr, which I think is super fair, given they could each charge $150/hr+ if they were booking solo appointments.

I believe that showing up on time for appointments (as a client) and providers being ready on time is a matter of basic decency. As @ButchAtlsays, “things happen” and if some sort of life event happens, I understand.
I had an appointment recently. Travelled a distance to get to the masseur. It was a first visit. I’m near him and texted 15 min before the appointment asking for exact address and apt/room number. At 5 min before our appointment, he texts me, “Shit. Can we do this an hour later?”. I message back with something like, “I’m on the street and don’t really have anything to do for an hour. Any chance you can be ready in < 1 hour?”.  20 minutes goes by before I get a reply. And, through the text convo, never an “I’m sorry” or any sign of regret for disrespecting my time.  I think that’s what bothered me the most.
I ended up cancelling.  It just didn’t feel right.

I must have seen them after you! Lol. Saw them today. I've never been a fan of 4-hand massages, but these 2 are very good at it. Both can do deep tissue and coordinated. And the sensual part is 🤯! They definitely have chemistry and it shows when they interact with each other. The are very generous with themselves.

Incidentally, I had booked with another provider today and when I got to his place he cancelled the appt on text. Mental health reasons. I'm all for it, but when a client is in front of your building, that's unprofessional. He offered to reimburse my "travel expenses" which I appreciate, but a rebooking is not gonna happen. BUT, Im I'm sorta glad it happened because I enjoyed myself immensely with these 2 lovebirds. 🥰.

I’ve always been interested in language and word choice. Very nerdy, I know.

I’m not young or good looking. I’ve never read a post with YMMV to mean the poster was bragging in some way. To me it’s always been more of a heads-up: no guarantee that my experience will match yours.

These are human interactions we’re having and writing about here. Every masseur has good days and lesser days. I have good days and not so good days. Throw those infinite variabilities in the pot along with how the masseur and me are impacted by many other things leading up to the moments of massage and there you go. YMMV.

I’m introducing a new term: MOMMV, which stands for My Own Mileage May Vary, which applies to how I have seen the same masseur on different occasions and felt one appointment was so much better than another.

Hi to all masseurs / people who might know the answers (and curious minds):

I’m curious what kind of notes/records masseurs typically keep on their clients. Do you make notes about age, body types, requests the clients made, things you know the client liked/didn’t like, were they a good tipper? Etc. etc.

To clients, feel free to ask additional questions you’d like to add to mine above.

Masseurs, please help with this curiosity. For masseurs, are these appointments fleeting moments that you live and let go OR do you memorialize each appointment in some way?

    Thanks.

    Hi Guys -
It seems like there are more masseurs creating fans pages on various sites that carry some sort of subscription price.

Have you sprung for any of these? Was it worth it? I’d love to hear more about what these cost and any pages in particular that you’d recommend and why.

    Thanks!
