This literally happened to me yesterday as well. It was the first, and only, massage I terminated early. Like you, I feel the provider is in desperate need of this gig. At the end, we settled up, and I headed my own way. The provider texted me and said he truly enjoyed working on my body, and asked if I would leave a review for him.
 
I politely responded, “I’m genuinely grateful for the time you spent with me today! However, my experience today doesn’t line up with the other reviews I saw of you online, and I would rather keep my experience to myself. If you’re open to feedback, I can give you my thoughts. Otherwise, I’ll leave off with it being a pleasure to have met you today!”
 
He never responded, so I assume he wasn’t receptive to constructive criticism.

Provide your honest feedback directly to the provider. Present it in a helpful manner.

It's a tight rope to walk looking at it on the other side. The focus is on your skin more so than your psyche. People frequently bitch about masseurs being too talkative, but also are unhappy if conversation is at a minimum meaning they are distant or cold-hearted.
 
Bottom line is, speak up at the beginning. Nobody is a mind-reader. If you like to be sociable, let it be known. Masseurfinder has nothing to do with your experiences. I've had an opportunity to go all the way with a guy who only advertised on massage anywhere, which is about the tamest massage site out there, so where the ad is makes no difference in what to expect from providers.

You're right. Some would argue that if Wilde had followed his own advice, ignored the Marquess of Queensbury, and gone abroad for a time his life would have turned out differently.
 
On topic though, I agree with Big Dale above that if a guy truly has an addiction to massage then professional help is warranted. For many of us, temptation is tempered by our bank account and the demands of day to day living.

As for me, the answer is yes, it can be addicting and get out of control emotionally and financially. But I will say this: in my nearly ten years of getting massages I have met some of nicest most interesting guys and I would not trade it for anything. I’m friends with some now and see others occasionally. Yes there are bad, if not hilariously awful experiences, but those are few and far between. If one is careful and learns how to read ads so as to choose the good ones and avoid the bad, it can be a rewarding (sometimes expensive) way to interact with people and have genuinely good experiences.
 
Regardless of motives on either side, we are all still people looking for connection. If we treat others respectfully then the chances of the encounter being mutually rewarding are much higher. I’ve experienced this several times. Massage can turn into a genuine connection.
 
What I’ve also found is that I like giving massages as much as receiving them now. A good masseur can teach you a lot about how to receive the massage as well as how to give a good one. I have had more than one masseur tell me they are going to give me the massage they would like to have.
 
I think at the end of the day it all depends on what you are in it for and what you want to get out of it short term and long term. I see massage as a language of touch, a way to converse. Receiving touch is like listening to someone. Some masseurs have a lot to say I want to hear, others not so much!
