  1. How time flies. I was touring WB studios years ago and they allowed us to stop and sit in the audience seats for 2 and 1/2 Men. There the guide talked about a new show called The Big Bang Theory that had just started, and that they had high hopes for it. I always remembered sitting there, having a snarky thought to myself, "Yeah well good luck. Not every show is going to be another 2 and 1/2 Men." TBBT quickly became a hit. CBS' hopes were well founded. I loved Jim Parsons in The Normal Heart. Wish I could have seen him in An Act of God on Broadway. When it toured we got Sean Hayes. Was good, but I love Jim Parsons. Hope to see him on stage some day. He also has a political talk show called Too Stupid for Politics, on satellite radio. He is quite good, and certainly knows how to ask his guests some very savvy questions.
  2. Our goal should be a society without classes.
  3. Yes. However, I am only one data point.
  4. I noticed this guy is visiting. https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/35576/
  5. I saw the movie today and am enticed to read the book. I wonder how the book treated Nick and Collin's relationship. They were portrayed in the movie as very bro-y, and even affectionate in a manly way of course. I see it is actually a trilogy of books. The end of the movie suggested to me that there will be a sequel. There is a Mahjong scene that's been written about. It's pretty good, clever stuff with human messages. The cast was outstanding. It's not Oscar worthy kind of cinema. But people obviously like this movie. It appeals to the masses and touches several buttons. There are handsome, shirtless dude scenes, poignant scenes and so on. The funny, gay dude is stereotypical, yet a mostly respectable queen. At one point he teams up with a character that looked and sounded a bit like Miley Cyrus. She was awesome and has a pretty big part in the movie. Those two added a lot with their comedy. There was a Cal State Fullerton reference where the audience erupted, but that might be mostly a So. Cal. thing. I saw it in Pasadena. It was a very funny sequence though.
  6. Always thought he was nice looking. The times I tried to schedule, he wasn't free. That was a long time ago though.
  7. One minute you're over posting on a chat forum, then next you've been transported with Marylander, in the middle ground between light and shadow, stuck on a land line talking to Bill Mumy for eternity. Admin Note: Pictures that include minors are not permitted on this site. Guidelines for posting images are found in the Gallery. On a side note, Weird Al Jankovic met his wife on a date that was set up by Billy Mumy.
  8. Still, Fred Astaire was in a class by himself.
  9. I choose to tip. That's how I am. However, if the rate is already sky high and/or if the session did not go well. then just a small one or none in a few cases. But a guy has to make a living. That's my motto.
  10. I remember as a kid watching Yankee Doodle Dandy on the tele. I was mesmerized by it.
  11. Was reading some classic movie history recently that Astaire turned down the role of George M. Cohan and the rest was history. James Cagney won the Oscar for it.
  12. "You know friend, this is a God damn bitch of an unsatisfactory situation."
  13. I'm glad you mentioned We the Animals and Moonlight. How those gay kids were played really stuck with me, how worthy of love they are. Chiron's face really stayed with me. Looking forward to more from Ashton Sanders. Even though Ashton Sanders was 20 years old when filmed, I'm editing his picture out to avoid concerns about the no minor pictures rule. Also same for the father / son picture from We the Animals. That one is under the age limit even though it's an innocent pic of a haircut. SPOILER ALERT ********************************************************************************************************************************************************* Loved how Paps looked at his little Jonah when giving him the haircut. Despite his faults, the loud, macho dad loved his sweet little kid
  14. I've seen some very sensual F/F scenes that are quite well done. Not sure if I'd like to watch F/F porn but the sex scenes in Blue is the Warmest Color provide a banquet of girl on girl romance and more!
  15. A love story between men was pretty damn original. So many people did not understand a man can get his fucking heart broken by another man. How fortunate that Ang Le and everyone else put their talents behind Annie Proulx's award winning story. Th Oscars will have to bear that blemish forever.
  16. If a woman had written that list, Blue is the Warmest Color would have been on there. Great lesbian themed flick, French.
  17. All the scenes afterwards, at Jack's ranch, are what I remember the most.
  18. Is it this one? I remember the female sidekick and something about her dog and peanut butter.
  19. Damn. If the gay character is the clown (again) I'll pass. <--EDIT. I saw it afterall. Friends invited me. See my thoughts below! That's one of the things I loved about the movie Dear White People, how the gay character was written as an actual human being with a story.
  20. Finished binging it. I've been a fan of Russell T. Davies, and this didn't disappoint. The underlying theme of the national insurance card was clever, to the end. I was not aware that this story was based on real life events. Ben Whishaw and Hugh Grant are very good in this.
  21. Some good lines in epi 1. Queer as springtime. Anyone else catch that? Also, "that's not wrong" Thorpe glancing down towards Norman's lap.
  22. I wonder what they mean "most popular." Chasing Amy wasn't all that popular with me but I expect straight people love the idea of turning a lesbian straight. Am I remembering it correctly? Anyway, I knew I'd never bother watching it twice.
  23. I watched The Seven Year Itch last night. Thought it was funny and very well done movie. Found this Variety review. What counts is that laughs come thick and fast, that the general entertainment is light and gay. http://slippedisc.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/marilyn-monroe-7-year-itch.jpg
