I think Grindr is saving escorts from folks asking for 1/2 hour rates, and other time wasters. It's also a way for guys tempted by the money to see if they can perform with men they're not attracted to.

In nyc I’ve received proposals of as low as $125. Often these guys are on RM too & quoting the market rate of $300 & up. You have to watch out for the scams however, which seem to be rife these days on Grindr.

I offer $200. Have gotten to know some great guys on Grindr. They do the same work as the RM guys so I pay the same.

Well he does list PNP in his profile. Red flag number one. Be sure to submit a formal review.

I don't personally care about price, this is what I'm looking for. Only prompting from the client (me) being them reading the situation and 'taking charge.'
 
Also, for the inexperienced (me), massage is gateway intimate contact. If I knew how to 'shop' better or read advertisements better, this would make my life easier.
 
edit: I'd rather overpay for a massage then pay for a massage then be presented with a "pay me X for Y" -- I'd rather have my expensive massage fee cover it up front.

However, when I first started hiring I intentionally sought out an escort that offered both.
I would hire him for one hour of massage and one hour of escorting. It wasn’t to save money.
It was because I was still very young and nervous about the whole “money for sex” thing.
The one hour massage allowed me to calm down a little bit and open up.

So yes, “usually” you are right.....but not always.

My experience is that guys asking for a massage are usually just looking to pay less for an escort.

I'm an escort and solely market myself on RentMen. I can do massage as part of the experience but I see myself as an escort. I seem to still get a lot of requests for just naked erotic massages ranging from 50-100 and it turns out to be a big time waste for potential clients and myself. Aren't there websites for those that do the rub and tug massage?

@Smurof I like the new tittle. The word "they" didn't justify a temper tantrum but it's hard to generalize folks who escort as a whole solid group who thinks and acts alike.

Somehow I must have not clarified. A4A is certainly not my main source for clientele. I’ve been with Rentmen since it first started up around 2009, along with RB and M4RN at the time. I was mainly suggesting that A4A is more of a supplementary site to use, but I’m aware that “rates” there have no ebb and flow.
 
I recently stopped my rebill of a4a, simply because sometimes I do take couple months off advertising there. But, I wouldn’t quite write off a4a as “yuck”. I know it’s not a site to actively engage in (I tend to just post my number, and only answer 1 or 2 emails from people who write in a complete sentence...like once a day). However...it comes in handy.
 
Adam4Adam can be good if end up in a city unexpectantly or for short period. Rentmen can take awhile to build up responses because, some cities...it’s the same guys or no guys at all. Men get bored and look at other sites. Adam4Adam keeps people entertained enough, so when a good provider shows up, they may bite. There’s even guys on this forum who use A4A. However, maybe Europe it’s different. A4A more dominant in America.
 
I actually am finding more time wasters are coming from Rentmen now than adam4adam. The rates are better on Rentmen, but the turnover is higher, and you made a good point about the filet mignon analogy. See post regarding the wind up clients. Most of those are ones contacting me from rentmen. Most people on Adam don’t bother texting me unless they’re interested in a service.

I went to a spa once in West Hollywood that did touch my buttocks. It was a woman masseuse though, so maybe that's different? Also I had a pulled sciatic nerve that she apparently was able to tell, so she did it for therapeutic reasons... I remember thinking though why is this lady touching my rear...she must know I'm Gay! LOL I won't say where it was though in case she wasn't suppose to do that.

I've had some good experiences using this technique. Finder's fee always helps.

I would never ask an escort if I could take a pic or film us. Some escorts have exclusive contracts with a porn studio and would violate their contract if pics or film came out.

Point blank: Ask the escort before you see him. Don't put him on the spot about it.

Be careful, Aaron, if you are in the US and you talk to a client for the first time, when you cannot know for sure that he is not a cop. Haggling for a sex act is a problem for legal reasons, not because it has a negative context.

This is the same reason why it becomes a problem (or even insulting) when a client tries to haggle your rate down based on what they want to do. Like “hi my hourly rate is $250” “oh but I just want to perform oral on you and you don’t have to do anything to me, can’t we make that $100?”...No, because my rate is for my time. And for legal reasons that does need to be made clear.

But in the US you should not say this sort of things or a different reason: you should not link sex acts to money (unless you are actually making a porn movie, I guess).
An escort provides companionship for money, not sex for money, that would be illegal.
So an escort will likely block you if you start linking sex with money in your communication. Too much chance of you being a police sting.
