+ Jamesp got a reaction from + Vegas_Millennial in Spaniard - NYC amazing
He told me 400 / 90 mins couple of months back. This is generally an indicator not looking to give any worth while service and do not repeat. I passed.

+ Jamesp got a reaction from + azdr0710 in Red Flags in the Male Massage World — Let’s Talk About It
Alright, guys — let’s cut the oils and get real.
If you've ever booked a massage with another guy (professional or "professional") and something felt off, you’re not alone. The world of male massage providers has its own… let’s say unique flavor of red flags. 🫠
So in the spirit of community service and shared trauma bonding, here’s a short list of things that make me hit “block” faster than you can say “mutual respect”:
Red Flags I’ve Personally Encountered (and maybe you have too)
Price is either suspiciously low or laughably high
$120 for 90 minutes in a private room? Or $250 for a “healing touch” from someone who still types “ur” in business texts? Something ain’t adding up.
Reviews that read like love letters
“It changed my life,” “I transcended time,” “I’ve seen him 37 times, and he’s changed my life.” Cool. But is every reviewer in a long-term situationship with him?
Photos look like they’re from three different decades
One’s clearly from 2008. Another’s a gym selfie with a filter that doesn’t exist anymore. And then there’s a headless torso that looks AI-generated. Who am I booking, exactly? Benjamin Button?
Requests a deposit before even confirming anything real
Especially when he says, “I don’t hold spots without deposits, bro.” Meanwhile, he’s texting from a prepaid number with no website and no proof of life since 2021.
Turns hostile when you ask basic questions
If asking about rates, boundaries, or hygiene suddenly triggers a 3-paragraph rant about “fake clients wasting time,” run. You're not the first to dip.
Barely trained, but acts like he's booked at Canyon Ranch
“I don’t have certification but I have natural hands and incredible intuition.” Okay Gandalf, but can you find a muscle group?
So here’s the ask:
What are YOUR massage red flags — specifically in the male-to-male scene?
Have you had a weird vibe turn into a great experience? Or ignored the warning signs and ended up wishing you could time travel back to 10 minutes before you texted “Sounds good”?
Let’s hear the stories. The cautionary tales. The unexpectedly great ones.
(And yes, if the massage started awkward and ended in a spiritual awakening, we want those too.)
Post below — anonymous if you must. We’re all just trying to avoid wasting money, getting ghosted, or having to fake emergency to escape mid-session.

Has anyone actually tried his service? For someone who claims to be 24 with a year of experience, the description sounds a bit too polished and theatrical. Phrases like "a sweet, intuitive guy with a warm presence", "natural gift for making people melt", and "hands that know exactly where to go" come off more like marketing copy than a grounded service offering. cherry on top: Hike to Astoria. Seems more of a bait than the real deal?

Massage, I am not into escorts but that’s too low for a good one ( pointing to other set of potential problems.)

+ Jamesp got a reaction from starman05 in FitGabriel in NYC
Wow, that’s some eye-watering eye candy. That rate is higher than what a lot of people on Deli charge. In my experience, when it comes to massages, prices like that usually mean they don’t expect you to come back. EVER

+ Jamesp got a reaction from + Vegas_Millennial in 411 MarcoPoloBig, now in NYC
His service charge feels like it's set up for one-and-done experiences more in the daily range, which kind of says a lot. The whole setup gives off a bit of a 'get what you get' vibe—like the quality might not blow you away, and he's not really counting on anyone coming back. It’s got that old carnival feel, where the goal is more about grabbing attention in the moment than delivering something worth returning for.

Its a complete waste of $$$. Save that and may be add it to your next appointment with better provider.

+ Jamesp got a reaction from pubic_assistance in HelioStretch in NYC
Is it just me, or is it weird when people start asking for your profile, pictures, stats, and probably astrological sign too? Like, buddy, we’re setting up a massage, not swiping right on Tinder. And when they say, “Let’s meet somewhere first”… yeah, that’s not a massage—that’s a plot twist. Total red flag. I’m looking for oil n back-rub, not wine n dine starting with flowers.

it says 5' 11. He is definitely not that tall.

+ Jamesp got a reaction from Kenny in Let's Talk Massages: Keepin' It Real!
That dude is likely still working as a masseur in NYC under the same name. Pretty sure I booked a massage with him once, but as soon as I got to his place, I noped the fuck out of there. He opened the door and started spouting some weird shit about love and waiting his whole life for me. I was like, "Uh, you definitely got the wrong guy, pal." I still paid him for the appointment, but I turned right back around and left. Usually I'd be pissed about a masseur cutting the session short, but in this case, I have zero regrets. That was sketchy as hell and I'm glad I got out of there ASAP.

He is habitual at bailing out last mins. Happened to me twice and thats my limit for such things.

You are very patient. I would have walked out as soon as he said that to wait for someone coming upstairs.

Has anyone seen non grainy pics? Those pics look like taken along with Princess Di and John Travolta.

Seems interesting but old grainy pics are always a red flag.

Time for a quick chat about finding the ultimate massage experience. We all dig a good-looking setup, sure, but let's not forget what really counts – the actual massage mojo!
If you've ever come across those eye-candy masseurs who can't rub two thoughts together, let's help each other out. Share your "not-so-wow" experiences, so we all steer clear of those not-so-legit rub-downs.
Whether it's a funny story or a serious heads-up, your insights can be a lifeline for someone seeking legit relaxation. This all about keeping it real, and that includes our massage game too!
Here are my first few:

+ Jamesp got a reaction from MDfun in Help! My Grooming Game Needs a Rescue Mission! in NYC
Hey everyone! I’m looking to up my grooming game and would love your recommendations for individual providers in NYC. I’m not really a fan of spas, so I’m specifically interested in groomers who know their craft. Whether it’s haircuts, beard trims, or those hard-to-reach areas that always seem to grow wild, I want someone who can handle it all with skill and maybe a little humor.
I’ve tried George in the past—nothing against him, but I’m looking for some fresh recommendations. If you’ve had a great experience with someone specific, please share their info! I promise not to ask for any awkward personal grooming advice—unless it’s absolutely necessary. Thanks in advance!

+ Jamesp got a reaction from Bronniebron in sports massage recs in NYC?
There was once another Chris in Hell's Kitchen. He used to work on a cruise and frequently visited LA. He would disappear from time to time, making it challenging to keep in touch. But whenever he was in New York, I always made sure to meet up with him. He was known for giving fantastic massages and more. Now, it seems we've lost touch completely, and I can't seem to find any recent updates from him anywhere.

His RM number is no longer in service. So may be one of those virtual realities.

+ Jamesp got a reaction from Capitano in TroyX: A Mixed Experience of Sensuality and Mediocrity
I booked an appointment with Troy and double-checked that it would be smoke-free when I made the reservation. But when I showed up, there was a really strong smoke smell that was super unpleasant. I tried to deal with it for about 15 minutes but couldn't take it anymore and ended up leaving early. I paid in full even though I didn't get the full service. For next time, it would be great if Troy could hold off on smoking before appointments, especially when clients specifically ask for a smoke-free setting.

+ Jamesp got a reaction from pubic_assistance in NYC Newbie: Lev
The massage sounds intriguing but the location seems pretty out of the way. And for that kind of hike and price point, I'd expect a really personalized experience.

I reached out and he said $300. For me that indicates he wants it one time only business, so I am probably not going to like it and start planning alternative in first 20 mins.
