  1. What really bugs me is all the iPad requests for tip amount on carry-outs. Even places that are all carry-out. You want 20% for handing me a muffin?
  2. What I'm speaking of was the recently discussed, and bemoaned, raising of asked rates from $300ish to $400 in the US by many providers (and 150 to 200 in Europe). Things have slowed from the post-vaccination surge and asked prices are back to "normal". Many clients were concerned that with the huge number of fairly rich people now and providers making more off social media, rates would stay higher.
  3. Several friends of mine in Europe have said the "surge pricing" is over there and rates have come back down from 200 Euro to 150. At the same time several friends in the US have remarked that the high demand has dropped back here too and rates are back down from the 300/400 range to 250/300 again. Last time I remember rates dropping back was 2008 and we all remember how that year turned out.
  4. In fairness gasoline, a huge inflation factor, is in the stratosphere at 3.50 a gallon and the supply chain is broken in many other industries and commodities. The administration keeps saying this a temporary inflation. Maybe a silver lining will happen if anti-inflationary measures are taken just as the supply chains get fixed and gas comes down. I'm already noticing the labor shortage getting overcome with a new Amazon Go by me with no cashiers or scanners, Chipotle and Shake Shack treating me better if I order online for ready pick-up on a shelf, Pollo Campero giving me discounts to do the same, and McD's giving me a free large fries everyday to order online and pick up (I resist that one). I don't think all prices that went up during the pandemic will go back down but i am surprised at how fast the market corrects itself one way or another. Escorts have even dropped back down from 300-400 to 250-300 (the market slowed a good bit after clients spent all their lockdown saved money). Always a silver lining.
  5. Aldi, Lidl and Wal-Mart are amazingly cheaper for groceries. My favorite at Aldi and Lidl are their big 49 cent avocados and all 3's $1.33 12-grain bread that's $5 everywhere else.
  6. I know several mostly just chat and play video games while online and i always suspected it was members some were playing, maybe for tips. I suspect CB has found a way to make $ off this for themselves? Or maybe just realize it's way to make more tips which they get 50% of.
  7. The Guilty came out friday and is amazingly good. #1 movie immediately.
  8. DollarTree has bleach for $1 as well as Mr. Plumber. I go through a decent amount so I stock up on both when I'm around one. Wear double masks.

  10. Pavel, Roald Ekberg and his brother are in Paris today for two weeks. They have an apartment out in Vincennes,. I think Pavel has dropped back to 150 Euro. Roald's brother: https://www.romeo.com/hunq/Adam_tyler Pavel: https://www.romeo.com/hunq/SteveSkarsgaard/travelling/12722217

  12. Several of us like the JW Marriott best. It's a 4.5 star high rise with roof pool and huge lounge open to most. The lounge is 2 stories and has a full view of the ocean plus free breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. In the lounge you realize the hotel is basically American and European business travelers. There's an excellent restaurant on main floor. I got gov't rate (they don't check) for $92/night. It's the same feel as a top big hotel in a big US city. That's rare in Rio. It's right across from the beach at the end of Copacabana where Ipanema begins, a great location. Downtown Copacabana and Club 202 are easily walkable. 117 is a decent Uber ride. I like 117 best but the immediate area to it is not for tourists. However it's close to Sugarloaf Mt which has some very fancy condos at it's base and I believe there's a hotel or two across the highway from it. Sorry I forget those neighborhood names. An alternative I've stayed at is the Sheraton Grand Resort just past Leblon where the beach curves. It's an elegant high-rise in a park-like beach setting with amazing views, rooms and food and a decent Uber ride in. Very fortress-like safe. Price out Uber to 117 to see how feasible that ride is. Copa isn't far at all. Basically the JW Marriott is a fine high-class city business hotel on a beach while the Sheraton is more fancy beach resort. The other "resorts" are way way past Leblon in Barra di Tijuca and probably infeasible as you'd spend most of your trip in an Uber. Especially if American, I wouldn't try any "ok, borderline good" areas. I have friends who've been robbed every single business trip there downtown. And Copacabana north of the Marriott is bad. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g303506-d299820-Reviews-JW_Marriott_Hotel_Rio_de_Janeiro-Rio_de_Janeiro_State_of_Rio_de_Janeiro.html https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g303506-d304506-Reviews-Sheraton_Grand_Rio_Hotel_Resort-Rio_de_Janeiro_State_of_Rio_de_Janeiro.html
  13. https://www.gayguides.com/forums/ https://www.gayguides.com/forums/topic/26478-so-cute-boys-in-prague/page/101/?tab=comments#comment-324188 Seems Velvety is indeed back in Prague.
  14. yes Velvety is legendary, there's a whole Prague thread on him "over there" by @pauleiro. He was for many years the #1 in Prague. but he's been living (and advertising on Hunqz) in Ho Chi Minh City for the past few years and on his social media hasn't mentioned moving back to Prague. so i would be very careful this is really him, especially with just one photo who could be anyone the agent sends out.
  15. Toward Earl's Court or toward Soho for hotels? Is Soho more gay active again? (I know it's closer to Heaven from my youth).
  16. Not Medicare, Medicaid. You have to get rid of all assets to qualify for Medicaid because Medicare does not cover extended stays. It should. Forcing people to sell their homes their sole hope in life is to return to some day is cruel.
  17. Prague and Buenos Aires to DC.
  18. The oddest and hottest I've ever seen is Max_232, a very young Russian bodybuilder who is very endowed, extremely good looking and friendly, and gets fucked by an older woman wearing a strap-on and by an older man he calls "daddy" along with great oral, kissing, rimming etc.
  19. I firmly believe McD's should be the first chain to go all wonder burger or impossible burger. No artificial meat could possibly taste less like real meat than McD's current "beef" does. To show how blood-thristy meat has made humans this about Impossible Burger: Beetroot extract gives the burger its color and helps it to “bleed” like animal-based meat does. ..Blood helps our appetite They used to have a decent Southwest salad with great dressing I'd eat a lot while traveling and on a (frequent) diet.
  20. Does London still have a hustler bar? I remember one from a looong time ago in SoHo that was always crowded. I imagine SoHo would still be more gay action (and rentboy friendly) than Earls Court, right? My US passport expires in 3 months so I can't get into Schengen until it's renewed which takes 4 months. I'll just fly my Czechs over.
  21. It only had a 1 level underground parking garage that caused the collapse? Many buildings have 4 or 5 lower levels.
  22. A very good performance as a surrogate mother by Patti Harrison, a trans. She really carries the very funny new movie in a first major part. On Hulu free, may be for rent on others. A young loner becomes a surrogate mother for a single, middle-aged man who wants a child. Their unexpected relationship soon challenges their perceptions of connection, boundaries and the particulars of love.
  23. Are you in Texas? you may end up giving some fingerprints too.
  24. i think Veizon is giving $800 trade-in toward the 13 for a lot of phones. Here's the list and how much: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/conditional-offers/verizon-iphone-13-trade-in/pcmcat1631804983518.c?id=pcmcat1631804983518 I'm shocked I could have gotten $800 for my old Sammy S9 !
