I've got a weakness for the sleeveless t-shirts cut very deeply on the sides; essentially VERY large arm cut-outs that allow a lot of peek-a-boo. Hard not to stare at guys at the gym wearing them. Something like this...

"men cut off muscle shirt" was the most promising google search term I found for this.

'Technically', I think of this as a 'guinea T'. Different from a classic wife-beater.

  2. The following is courtesy of "All Things Linguistic"

"‘No problem’, coming from a millennial’s mouth, within the context of helping someone – whether it be holding a door open/picking up something someone may have dropped/etc. – and, naturally, being thanked for it, implies that the kind gesture was indeed, not a problem, that it was just the thing to do, that they were happy to help and that no thanks was really necessary.

While a Baby Boomer’s ‘You’re welcome’ in contrast, says something miles different, it actually highlights the fact that the person went out of their way to help someone; almost brings attention to it in a way, saying 'Yeah, I helped you, I did you this favor I accept your thanks.’ which, malicious intent or not, is strikingly different than the millennial downplay of their act of kindness for the sake of helping someone."

In other words, the use of "no problem" is akin to saying "it is my pleasure" or "don't mention it." Both expressions pre-date the common use of "you are welcome."

    Here is the entire article.

For me, nothing announces one's curmudgeonliness to the world like one who gripes about the young 'uns who say 'no problem' instead of 'you're welcome'.

  3. I'm always shocked that a newbie comes on the scene, not yet reviewed and a complete unknown and goes immediately to the high end of the pay scale -- especially like this young man who is admittedly attractive but nothing to write home about. My hourly rates for my profession went up each year that I got more experienced and proved myself. Not sure why companions are not similar. I don't mind taking one for the team on an unknown but not at the high end of the scale -- unless he is drop dead hot. You see Trophy Husband and Lance Navarro, for example, at the same rate as this newbie. Giovanni Volta (an absolute God roaming the earth) at $ 220 or $ 240. It just does not compute with me. OK, off my soap box.

I thought $300.00 is the normal going rate in this day and age - at least in a big market like LA. I don't notice a lot of ads for less than that. Or, I should say, the ads that interest me rarely dip below $300.00.

  4. >>Very simply, it is a perk for frequent flyers. Delta boards in order of 1) anyone needing special assistance (which should be wheelchairs & baby carriages but is abused at times), 2) first class and diamond medallion, 3) skymember premium plus those who've paid extra for a "comfort" class seat, then, zones 1, 2, etc.

It's one of the few free things they can offer frequent flyers (as opposed to a free upgrade to first which they can instead sell to a coach pax for dollars or points).

Logistically it is a little backwards since the groups who board first tend to be toward the front and on the aisles but getting on early gives you a much better shot at the much-coveted overhead bin space.<<

Thanks for the interesting answer. But...but...it is a LOT backwards and it is absolutely the reason for congested aisles.

  5. One of the many delightful aspects of flying in this day and age has kept me perplexed since the airlines started implementing it. When flying coach, one's boarding pass is assigned a 'group number', based on God only knows what. Then, "we will begin boarding Group 1" then "...Group 2..." etc. WHY - in the name of all that is holy! - do they not begin boarding the plane with the poor chumps (like me) who are sitting furthest in the back???????????!!!!!! That way...DUH...people won't be crawling all over each other trying to get to their seats!!

  6. Eva seemed to have a sweetness about her that Zsa Zsa lacked. I also think she displayed a lot of comedic acting skill on Green Acres. Her grave stone is touching...

Regarding Merv Griffin, they are showing his old shows on the GET-TV Network. The old black and white episodes can be fascinating. Last week they had an episode from the mid 1960s with a young-ish Phil Specter as guest. He was every bit as creepy and weird with bad hair as he is now. He even told some anecdote about pulling a gun on someone!

  7. I hardly ever watch NBC nightly news, and I only vaguely knew who Thomas Roberts is. I just happened to catch his newscast the other day and I am shocked to read this was his first time in the anchor chair. FLAWLESS is probably the best word to describe his performance. Beyond flawless, really. I will be tuning in regularly now. (I never liked Brian Williams anyway, but I do like Lester Holt, too.)

  8. I once saw the dumb show HOT IN CLEVELAND where they had a cutie playing the son of Valerie Bertinelli. I googled him and found out he was Joe Jonas. I'd heard of the group, but otherwise knew nothing about them. For me, Joe has the cutest face by far, but nowhere on the internet did I see any pics anywhere close to the body displayed in the picture on this thread. It does look heavily 'enhanced'. He's still a cutie, though. The other two do nothing for me.

  9. One thing that drives me crazy about these new low gas prices is clearly illustrated in a single newspaper page I saw a few weeks ago. Big headline story at the top of the page chronicling the new lower prices. Then, a little further down the page...a separate article about the sales of fuel efficient cars plummeting. Then, a little further down to the left, an article about the surging sales of big SUVs, trucks, and other gas guzzlers. Now, wouldn't owning a fuel efficient car AND having lower gas prices (however temporary) be a win-win situation? When will this gluttonous country ever learn?

  10. I saw him a few times on live cam on the Randy Blue website. It stuck me that he always seemed to have a perturbed, unfriendly quality about him. His answers to questions from guys on the board could be very curt. (And this was not just a one time viewing.) Of course, I'm sure some of the wacko's in that chat room can be agitating, but still...

  11. If the past he's been pretty good about merely posting his travel dates in the travel section of the message board. To say 'formerly of LA' in the review section sounds so permanent!:-(
