  1. I saw this yesterday. Such an interesting article! Are you going to see CMBYN next week LoveNDino? I am going to make a day of it and head to LA! Maybe I'll see it twice. It is showing all day, starting in the morning. I saw CMBYN at the San Diego festival. Since then I listened to the audiobook twice. I honestly didn't think I would like Armie Hammer in the movie and I doubted I would like him reading the audiobook, but I was mistaken. He was outstanding in both. I was just wrong. It happens! If Grammys are give for audiobook CDs he should get one.
  2. Tab Hunter is still is a very attractive man. He has passed 80 and stays in good shape. Perhaps it helped marrying someone so young!
  3. Thank you <3 LoveNDino. I didn't know about BookSoup.
  4. I used to go with friend for a hearty meal, but then got over charged for items not on our trays by a snarky girl and decided to wait a while. Still haven't been back. I did break one of our martini glasses so I should hit their cheap stemware aisle soon.
  5. Where I don't give is at the pump, which happens now and then. I'm not comfortable interacting with panhandlers wandering from pump to pump asking for help, often to help fill their tank. When I mention I have no cash they'll sometimes respond that's OK, doesn't have to be cash. They are well practiced. I just say no.
  6. We had a member fall of the roof, 2 stories. People throwing objects off the fire escape. Boys stacked up on top of the other on the den floor, diving from couches, one on top of the other. It's amazing no one died. There was no control over the amount of liquor we drank. It was a lot. We were nuts. We were in an old red brick dormitory system, not even a Frat. The Frats on our campus seemed much more serene than these accounts in recent years. Maybe back there in the hinterlands, back in the middle of nowhere on our campus, we were just not as corporal about things as it seems these kids are now. Life is their fucking reality show.
  7. I eventually chatted more about hoping he stays at the chiro and he mentioned having worked at a spa nearby, a local spa, part of a therapeutic chain. He also shared having a GF and two young boys (at home I guess) so there isn't much chance of an incall, although I will keep tabs on how long he's staying at the chiro in case he moves on to another opportunity. The latest couple of times while manipulating and stretching my arm he brought my hand against his stomach, which I admit doesn't bother me at all. That is some firm flesh, ya know? But also, he continues to lean across me from above my head, which pushes his stomach against the side of my face. Again, that does not bother me at all. I do not mind the feel of that nice, muscled tummy against, and I may have nudged slightly against, with my face. Just a tiny bit. I'll see him again next week.
  8. ...but he's an Adonis!
  9. I am going on 12-9. Glad to hear these recommendations !
  10. I didn't repeat although I didn't cross him off my list. He was pleasant but he was short on time so it was a little rushed.
  11. Such fine pirate booty! Prepare to be boarded.
  12. Can someone give a link to where he is talked about in the forum? Is it an escort discussion?
  13. The Titanic Episode ..I'm sorry, if I take your baby I'll have to take everyone's baby.
  14. I don't do a lot of fast food, but when I do it's In N Out or Popeyes.
  15. ...a lovely photo to frame. I imagine it looks nice in your home.
  16. Scudder had a nice stance. Just my type, height, etc.

  18. Back when there were LGBT bookstores in most large cities, I wondered into one where the owner recommended The Persian Boy, which remains a favorite of mine today. Mary Renault and Julie Millard left the UK and lived out their years together in South Africa, where Renault wrote The Persian Boy and her other historical novels. Renault was well regarded by President Kennedy and received letters from fans around the world. Her writing is not for everyone. I'd call it college level reading. It is subtle and deeply thematic. Her Oxford background is apparent. JRR Tolkien was one of her professors. Renault portrayed a few characters as clearly gay and others as fluid, trying both men and women, though one sometimes has to read between the lines to understand when they let loose their same sex passion. Some want to criticize that she never discussed her sexuality, that she refused to comment outside of her books concerning gay people. One might remember back then, publishers would not print certain content. The Brits where still shaming gays and tossing them in jail for same sex love and affection. The world was fortunate back then to have her works and I hope we continue to appreciate how great she was. Renault's Last of the Wine is such an epic story! How Lysis loved his Alexias so! It may tear your heart out. Also, try The King Must Die and then continue with Bull From the Sea. Astounding and epic, dealing with the matriarchies of antiquity and their gods.
  19. Saw it at OutFest. Harris Dickinson earned his pay. He owned that role. How a young actor does that well is really something. Looking forward to his upcoming role. I'd like to see the movie again. It is good. However, it may not suit everyone.
  20. There are several good interviews including this NYFF Live. In one, Armie Hammer admits Luca Guadagnino had Hammer and Chalamet lay down in the grass outside his house and to make out. He watched their attempt and told the two that they lacked passion, and try again. They gave a much more passionate attempt and after a while looked up. Guadagnino had left. In another interview, I believe the one above, Guadagnino suggests a sequel is possible. That's an interesting idea.
  21. Chalamet was as good as the reviews said. I didn't think I'd like Hammer as Oliver, but he was good too. I really liked both performances a lot. There is an easter egg in there which was fun. A book and a movie are truly different art forms so comparing Aciman's book with the movie might not be entirely fair. I'll say that I liked the movie ending a lot.
  22. I saw the re-release of Maurice on the big screen in Santa Monica earlier this year. Important movie. I bought the DVD. A Room with a View is a favorite of mine. At first I was worried that the movie Call Me by Your Name had washed out too much of the "stuff" of the book and that Hammer was too old for Oliver's part. But later I decided not to worry for two reasons. I was told by people that saw it at Sundance not to worry, the movie is a gem. If the actors agreed to show frontal nudity, Sony Classics might not have picked it up and I wonder if it would have been paid an entirely different attention, how the media loves to go on about things that might be dirty or controversial. Instead, it's tame enough to garner huge kudos and much dialogue about bisexuality.
  23. That is a sweet story @bostonman . I've had similar thoughts about what would have happened several other times as well, how he showed me and even told me obvious things. My own fear, and denial got in the way. I loved that guy. Funny thing is a got an e-mail from him after all these years encouraging me to attend our house reunion. He's married with kids and all.
  24. Yes, driving. I've never tried the train but would like to sometime. Screening is sold out. I'll probably line up around 4pm. Looks like will be a beautiful day in San Diego on Saturday.
