  1. Myophile my maternal grandfather was born in Virginia five years before the start of the Civil War (He always called it the War Between the States). He was born and lived on the family's large farm in Western Virginia. His family was NOT a part of the Piedmont Plantation Aristocracy. He died when I was young but I do remember hearing him talk about living under the Union occupation. His father eventually lost the farm to taxes and the family moved first to Kansas and then Colorado. My grandfather became an engineer on the Denver, Rio Grand Railroad and ended up settling in Springville, Utah where my mother was born. None of her siblings joined the Mormon Church but many of their children did. As my mother was one of nine children I have tons of Mormon relatives on that side of the family. On my fathers side the family is Roman Catholic. The two religions make quite a combination. I always laugh and say that a third of my family is Mormon, a third is Roman Catholic, a sixth is Evangelical Christian and a sixth, myself included, is devoutly nothing.
  2. If some of you who are planning on attending haven't yet notified Oliver please do so ASAP. He needs an accurate count for the Saturday evening dinner and the Monday morning breakfast. Additionally I need to know how much food to prepare for the Sunday Pool Event.
  3. Tristan Baldwin has said he plans to be there. I have invited Cometdancer and he will hopefully be attending. Those are the only two I know about -- hope there will be more.
  4. Damn JoeMendoza you do have excellent taste in Las Vegas restaurants!
  5. WilliamM my grandfather was born in Trifail, Slovenia and my grandmother was born in Hrastnik, Slovenia. However, they never considered themselves from Slovenia. When they were born it was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and thus they always said they were from Austria. When my grandmother and her three oldest children came to the U.S. in 1910 they passed through Vienna. I remember my father telling me that he remembered seeing the old Emperor Franz Joseph riding in a carriage down the main street of Vienna. Damn that sounds like ancient history doesn't it!!!!!
  6. My paternal grandparents were born in Slovenia. My grandmother got pregnant with my oldest aunt at age 13. My grandfather was 15 at the time. My grandfather didn't live all the near my grandmother so when he returned the next summer he was presented with a baby daughter. Their marriage was arranged immediately thus they were 14 and 16 when the got married. Now believe this one - the year my grandmother died they had just celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary. My grandfathers health was not all that bad but at my grandmothers funeral he announced that he and Marie had been together for eighty plus years and if she went he was going also. He died in his sleep three months later.
  7. With escorts who identify strictly as TOPS I would agree with you -- many won't or aren't very good at oral. However, escorts who identify as VERSATILE/TOPS are frequently very into and good at oral. You might want to direct your search in that area.
  8. Lucky, sorry to hear about your niece and her husband. Hopefully like many others who are contracting it after being vaccinated their case is similar to that of a mild cold. Like the flu we are probably going to have to learn to live with Covid19. We simply cannot continue indefinitely living with the entire country closed-down and quarantined.
  9. Lucky, thanks for the most encouraging post. Let's hope the figures continue to drop between now and the Weekend. Thanks again.
  10. Lazarus I gotta say I really don't see it that way. There a lots of very, Very, VERY hot gay escort out there. I guess it all comes down to what one considers hot.
  11. You might be correct Lucky but the are lots of hot gay male escorts out there as well. I just wish someone, who hires "straight" escorts would explain the attraction to me.
  12. I will never understand the allure of hiring "straight" escorts.
  13. I never stopped hiring and I am still doing so. Getting together with my regular guy for dinner and fun this evening. I'm fully vaccinated and have had the booster. Two fucking years of this mask and quarantine bull shit, is enough. I'm also starting to travel again and am currently planning a ten-day trip to Mexico City. I'm 81 and god only know how much longer I have to live so I am resuming my life as normally as possible.
  14. I have been double vaccinated and had my booster. I will most likely NOT be wearing a mask. As far as vaccinations are concerned we are now on an honor system. In the end one either takes a persons word that he/she has been vaccinated or one stays at home. It is really as simple as that.
  15. I'm definitely there as far as age is concerned, however, I still "absolutely hate" being called daddy. I'm nobody's daddy. I always thought it silly and absurd that Bill loved being called daddy.
  16. Just got gas at my neighborhood Costco this morning -- $5.05 a gallon regular unleaded. Let's hear it for the absolutely outrageous California gas tax. That tax money is supposed to go to the maintenance of the state highways as well as bridge s. In reality very little goes to those items while the vast majority of the money goes to pet projects of state legislators.
  17. In all my years of traveling in Mexico, frequently driving my own car, I was only hit up once for a bribe by a police officer. I was driving my jeep from the border to San Felipe on the Gulf of California. I played totally dump and continued to happily chat with the cop, in Spanish, until he finally got bored with the process and told be to be on my way. The lesson learned was to be nice and talk them to death. Damn I'm still quite good at that.
  18. When I was teaching in a public high, on the first day of classes, I always told me students that my name was 1.) Mr. Smith, 2.) Smith, or 3.) Bill. They were welcome to use any of those with which they were comfortable. The were, however, NEVER to call me buddy, dude, mack, bro, coach, or hey you. The funny thing was they had a hell of a time calling me by my first name -- they would stutter and the finally blurt out Bill. Most preferred to use my last name without the Mr thus on campus I was commonly known as Smith.
  19. To be totally honest WilliamM I found your response to my comment on urban safety petty. Now I'll state right up front that my response is going to be equally petty. Twenty or even ten years ago your comments regarding safety in Stockholm would have been correct. Not today. Like most cities in Europe the last ten years, in Stockholm, has seen a marked increase in criminal gang activities in several parts of the city. That is particularly true in the area adjoining the main railway station. This information can be found in police reports as well as online comments by city residents. The level of crime might NOT be as high as it is in some of the cities I sited BUT it is there and it behooves tourists to be aware of it
  20. Pre covid19 I used to go to Puerto Vallarta twice a year once in November and once in March/April. The weather was great. The summers in P.V. are awful – extremely hot and humid. I always stayed in the old town in a condo overlooking the pier. Every city in the world has districts in which one should not walk around alone late at night. That is equally true of Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, London, Paris, and Rome as it is of Puerto Vallarta. I have always felt safe walking the streets of old town Puerto Vallarta regardless of the time of day or of night. I often walked home from the stripper bar Wet at one or two in the morning and never felt threatened. I have always enjoyed shopping for Mexican Arts & Crafts in a multitude of great shops in P.V. The only place, in Mexico, having better restaurants than Puerto Vallarta is Mexico City. To name just three: 1.) Trio wonderful continental food in a lovely setting, 2.) Café de Artistes patio dinning that is drop dead gorgeous and excellent food. It is pretentious but worth a visit, and 3.) No Se Nada Bar y Restaurante serves outstanding Mexican food. The fish is especially good. Now that covid19 seems to be winding down I am looking forward to returning to my old haunts in Puerto Vallarta. However, first, after a forty-year hiatus, I need to make a visit to Mexico City which I hope to do in November. P.S. Returning to topic over the years I have picked up, more than a few, damn good looking dancer from the stripper bar "Wet". Most are happy to make arrangements to meet after the bar closes or the next afternoon, at my condo, for some fun and games. There are a couple other stripper bars where similar arrangements can be made with the dancers. It is just that I have always preferred "Wet"
  21. If one goes to a beach resort, anywhere in the world, seeking indigenous culture one should think again.
  22. Very appealing but I NEVER contact guys who advertise as straight regardless of what they claim to be into.
  23. I shudder to think what would happen if we were having sex and he slipped and fell on top of me.
  24. I'm a great fan of the old adage "Different strokes for different folks". As far as I'm concerned he has a great body and a face that is a complete turn-off for me.
