Escort who wants hotel contact info in text
LaffingBear replied to Marzbarz's topic in Questions About Hiring
Havent seen that in a hotel yet.... but that system was installed in the office building where I worked in 2011. And most of the buildings in the SF Financial district. Regular workers access with a badge... elevator assigned at touchscreen. Visitors assigned at security desk. No open access call button. Its also supposed to manage elevator traffic... fewer stops on fewer floors by cars...routing people into cars already headed to specific floors. -
Escort who wants hotel contact info in text
LaffingBear replied to Marzbarz's topic in Questions About Hiring
Been to Vegas three times this year. Four different hotels. Security = flash room key card at guard manning the elevator lobby. No need for keycard in elevators or to call elevator to lobby (like urban office buildings.) No need once up on guest floors. Several escorts reported they have key cards for most of the major properties.... guests leave keycards all over. They needn't be active if the only purpose is to wave a logo card at a bored guard. I prefer meeting in lobby, but found many rentguys refuse that. And I've found text to be preferred method for all communications.... anyone under 40 for any purpose. I dont think its about rentguys or security. Its about paying attention, remembering, and reliance on a system to have info available at the moment its needed. I dont expect anyone to ever write anything down. And, for rentguys and clients, there's the ability to communicate discreetly and intermittently. Can't easily discuss rates and services standing in line for coffee, but you can text about it. Need to stop and find a quiet spot to speak about details if in the gym, but can check and send texts every 2-3 minutes between sets... or while using cardio equip. Its a lifestyle issue. -
Not sure about "sliced to ribbons" but I'd expect reactions here as well. I certainly don't think I'm a thought-elite.... but I am terminology-obsessed and stereotype-sensitive. My reactions are about learned interpretations of words or behaviors. If we stop and think outside the box, what is "masculine"? I've stood in bars and watched muscled, deep-voiced, leathermen walk in and share baked goods and gush over recipes. I've been at "bear" events where the demin & workboots crowd throw their hands in the air and shriek when It's Raining Men is played by the DJ. The toughest action I've ever witnessed was a very nondescript guy I knew in SF who occassionally wore women's clothes when he went miles in the AIDS walk in stilleto heels... all of these men would typically be labeled masculine. The word to focus on in "straight-acting" should be acting. I'll take genuine over acting any day. We choose to interpret and assign value to terms like masculine. We toss around words like masculine or effeminate in the gay community, reinforcing attitudes that one is prefered over the other. For me, a genuine, soft-spoken man who has chosen a career as a hair dresser is more masculine than the closeted NFL player letting fear rule his life. I'd guess that some would sigh, perhaps point out that there are dictionary definitions for masculine or effeminate. But those too are 20th century thoughts. We celebrate girls who want to play football or repair cars.. Cheer the boldness of young boys who want to wear dresses to school. Defend the rights of those seeking gender reassignment. Masculine and feminine are not absolutes. I'd like to think we're moving towards a day where others are less likely to project a presumed sexual orientation on someone due to artificial terms like masculine and effeminate.

One standard by which you can identify a bad hire.... someone who states "you're paying for my time," but behaves as if session duration is tied to climax.

Saw it today. Its good. Not phenomenal, but worth seeing. As I sat in the theater, I wondered how many people had seen the predecessors. The woman next to me wept uncontrollably - I suppose that's an endorsement. It drags a bit. Theres no real incredible performance scenes.. a few that are very good. A more balanced look at the star being born and the fading star. More Cooper than Mason or Kristofferson by comparison; less GaGa-focused than Streisand-, Garland-, or even Gaynor-centric. Maybe thats a function of being producer (or producers' lover) Not fair to draw comparisons to predecessors, and I suppose I credit them with being different. Nonetheless, I'd like a few things in classic remakes to be iconic. Like the closing number to focus on the star who was born - I found the editing of the finale distracting.

Ive wondered something similar. Reportedly, perhaps its legend, not fact.... Vegas hotel hosts would arrange call girls and escorts for high rollers and "whales." Can't confirm that. But I do wonder... with every Vegas hotel having villas and private area desgned for those whales... do hosts still arrange companions? And are there exclusive high-end male4male companions? Or males for super-wealthy women?

Good movie. One of my favorite authors and a series of novels that shaped my thinking. I often recommed them to younger folks - not easy to find, no longer in print, and, unless it happened recently, not on e*book. I'd encourage anyone to read them. Its 6 novels total, with great character development. And the way Drury handles the final two books remains one of my favorite author's devices of all time. A few months ago, I wrote that I'd gone to my first live performance in over a decade, only to sit behind a tall man. Im 6'0.. but still, spent the majority of Book Of Mormon bobbing and weaving in my SF Orpheum 6th row orchestra seat to see the stage. Others here commented on many theaters having poor sight lines. Last night, I saw On Your Feet at the recently renovated Golden Gate Theater in SF. Running late, I barely made it... and then just before curtain, a relatively tall guy sat in front of me. Not that tall, maybe 6'2, but still his head blocked a significant portion of the stage from my 11th row center seat. So much that it distracted me and I wasn't enjoying the show. I literally didn't see several actions that occurred downstage center. Moved at intermission to 9th row seats I'd noticed as unoccupied. Wouldn't imagine it to be such a profound difference, but having full view with peripheral vision totally changed my experience, the feeling of involvement, etc. Thoroughly enjoyed second half. I've been scoring amazing seats for SF shows - so far, all center orchestra rows 5-11. After years of non-attendance, I've been to four shows in recent months, and plan to see more. But wondering... maybe orchestra seats aren't necessarily best. I like being close, choose closer seats in movie theaters too. Helps me feel involved in the performance. But maybe go for mezzanine or balcony seats, to avoid poor sightlines? What are preferences of other theater goers? Disregarding ticket-cost, what are preferred seating choices?

Do you pay attention to farm raised vs wild caught seafood?
LaffingBear replied to + FrankR's topic in The Lounge
Do I pay attention? Yes. Do I have hard and fast rules as to what I consume? No. I prefer the taste of some wild caught fish. But I won't rule out all farm-raised... not all farms are wicked. And we're going to need to keep up a demand for responsibly farmed fish, or it wont be there, and the oceans will be fished-out. There are also some perfectly acceptable farmed or man-assisted species. -

Ignoring does not ignore comprehensively, or universally. You will NOT see threads they started when you're within a forum. You will NOT see their comments/additions within a thread. You WILL, however, see notification of activity within threads they started on the home page/preview. Additions to hypothetical "ignoredGUY's" posts will be announced if it's the "Latest" for any Forum on the home page, and additions to ignoredGUY's posts will be listed/linked if its the latest addition to any of the new posts promoted on the homepage. It can be a little confusing/misleading. You can click the link on the home page and go directly into one of the Latest threads, even if it was started by ignoredGUY. But if you enter the specific forum, the very same thread started by ignoredGUY won't appear in the forum's list of threads.

Posted in other threads: This year in Las Vegas, three times Spring through Summer. Grindr, and to lesser extent Scruff, lots o' Rentguys. So much so that, in September, I was cross-referencing Grindr guys seeking gen or dad with RM. Many guys seem to be cross-advertising between the platforms. I dont bother with the apps back home in suburbia... not for rentguys, not for hookups, not for meets or chats.
