It is not a hope in total vain, there are many providers who are just great people, and can establish a good connection/friendship with an "old guzzard". The fact it is a business transaction makes it harder to determine a read friendship. Your dancer hasn't learned his lesson that tells him to keep the client happy.

In my previous career as an occupational therapist, I spent some time working in a hospital in Brooklyn. I was responsible for the NICU and I led the outpatient department. I would walk in to work and look at my schedule. I would see that I had a few outpatient appointments in the morning, a new baby to evaluate in the NICU, and the some paperwork time and more outpatient work in the afternoon.

@queensboroboy I think it's less tacky in the situation you describe than someone looking for variety. In this case, your provider has stopped offering something you want. The question is how close is your relationship? If you are close enough, it should be OK, but if you think you'll hurt his feelings, explore without his advise.
