  1. She'll be one on the show, too. This annoys Tim Allen fans, because the common thought is that LAST MAN STANDING was cancelled by ABC because of Allen's conservative views.
  2. Who can forget Dixie's daughters' brilliant acting debuts?:rolleyes: The show is running on a new network, FeTV (family entertainment TV).
  3. 13 episodes next season. Diane English again writing and producing. No word yet on whether jokes will be recycled from MY SISTER SAM again. Polly Bergen's twin sister will return in the title role.
  4. You mean it wasn't Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips? (which I think merged with Long john Silver's)
  5. Live fast food, die young. A little fire wasn't going to chase off the Fire Sauce-loving Taco Bell fans of Montgomery, Ala., as over 100 people showed up to honor the supremely burned out remains of the former supreme burrito dispensary. In the wake of a mysterious early morning blaze that destroyed the Taco Bell Wednesday, Jan. 17, a Facebook proposal for a vigil was created and the response was Nachos Bellgrande. Together, Bell buffs gathered Sunday night in the shadow of the crumbling establishment and neighboring Arby's parking lot to offer their deepest Cheesy Gordita condolences. Attendees showed up with paper cups turned into makeshift candleholders and some even came dressed as angels to properly help shuffle the fast-food establishment off this Crunchwrap coil. "I've had a lot of memories created at Taco Bell," said recent Alabama State grad Ashley Nicole Portis, one of the radiantly dressed mourners, told theMontgomery Advertiser. "I was a theater major and we had long, long rehearsal nights. It was extremely taxing, and you don't always have time to eat. You miss the cafeteria, it closes early. In Montgomery, everything else closes early." At one point during the festivities, a Taco Bell taco kit was blindly tossed into the crowd off the back of a pickup truck. Said organizer Katie James, "It just gave people something to talk about other than all the negativity that's going on right now."
  6. The late Suzanne Pleshette.
  7. I'd have been more interested in seeing Chris Potter & Tom Verica than Cannavale & Connick if they were going to bring back W&G's former love interests.
  8. Every time I read a gushing comment, I think to myself really??? I find the quality to be roughly equal to the last few seasons of the original, when everyone thought the show was tired and past its prime. Yes, there have been some great moments here and there, but I think people are letting nostalgia and the admittedly-still-amazing chemistry color their impressions with rose-colored glasses. I’m still watching, but then again I’m the one who holds on to the past as long as possible, & I don’t have premium channels or netflix/amazon etc. from which to find new programs to watch. But I’m glad everyone else is enjoying it so much. As for returning guest stars, if they manage to bring back Karen’s mom I’ll be impressed.
  9. An estimated 200,000 honeybees were reportedly killed Saturday in California when vandals, in what’s being called a “senseless act,” doused them with diesel fuel. Around 100 beehives containing Italian and Russian honeybees on a property in Prunedale were toppled over and the bees exterminated with diesel fuel between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, KSBW reported. Property owner Mike Hickenbottom suspects it was his neighbors’ doing, as they had previously complained about the bees. Hickenbottom said his neighbors told him their children were scared to go outside because the bees would freely fly around. But he noted that the bees were never aggressive, telling the news station: “I go up around the bee boxes without any protective clothing on. I’ve never been stung.” While surviving in 100 beehives on Hickenbottom’s property, the insects were owned and maintained by beekeeper Alfonso Perez. He leases the property during the winter and Perez leases the beehives to pollinate almond trees throughout California. “Somebody came here and tipped over all the boxes and sprayed them with diesel fuel,” Perez told KSBW. “It killed a whole bunch of bees.” The bees’ deaths will reportedly cost Perez more than $50,000 — which is his entire annual income, Hickenbottom claimed on a GoFundMe page he set up to help the beekeeper. “Alfonso is very devoted to his responsibilities and has now suffered a tremendous loss of his very hard work,” Hickenbottom wrote on the GoFundMe, which as of early Wednesday evening has raised more than $15,000 of its $70,000 goal. “All money raised will go directly to Alfonso Perez to replace all beehives, honeybees, family obligations and endless hours of hard work.” Perez and his wife, according to Fox 26, are expecting a baby next month. A police report has been filed with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, which reportedly is investigating the incident. A small Iowa town is buzzing after two young boys vandalized a honey farm causing $60,000 in damage. The boys, ages 12 and 13, are facing felony charges following the Dec. 28, 2017, incident which left 500,000 bees dead, according to Sioux City Police Department. The pair have been charged with criminal mischief, agricultural animal facilities offenses and burglary. The three felonies carry a combined penalty of up to 10 years in prison and fines totaling $10,000. This case, however, is likely to be tried in juvenile court. They're also facing one aggravated misdemeanor charge each of possession of burglary tools. According to the Sioux City Journal, the two unidentified minors destroyed all 50 of Wild Hill Honey owners Justin and Tori Engelhardt's bee hives. They feared the loss of their bees could put them out of business for good. The suspects were not arrested until just under a month after the incident, which delighted Justin Engelhardt. "It's huge, right? It demonstrates the professionalism and determination of the Sioux City Police Department and we couldn't be happier," he told the publication. Although the crime occurred in a secluded area, local police were able to track down the underage duo with help from the public. Authorities told the outlet they do not anticipate having to make any further arrests in the case. A GoFundMe page was started for the Engelhardt's business. The crowdfunding site raised more than $30,000 in a matter of days. Engelhardt told the outlet he believes so many people were buzzing about he and his wife's story because the public has become increasingly aware of the plight of the honey bee. "Bees are critical and people are conscious of the fact that bees are having a hard time right now and facing some real challenges," he told the publication. It's unclear when the suspects will appear in court again.
  10. There’s not a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. There’s an iridescent dinosaur. Scientists on Monday announced the discovery of a crow-size, bird-like dinosaur with colorful feathers from northeastern China that lived 161 million years ago during the Jurassic Period. They named it Caihong, the Mandarin word for rainbow. Microscopic structures in the exquisitely preserved, nearly complete fossil unearthed in Hebei Province indicated that it boasted iridescent feathers, particularly on its head, neck and chest, with colors that shimmered and shifted in the light, like those of hummingbirds. The discovery “suggests a more colorful Jurassic World than we previously imagined,” said evolutionary biologist Chad Eliason of the Field Museum in Chicago, one of the researchers in the study published in the journal Nature Communications. Using powerful microscopes, the scientists detected within the feathers the remnants of organelles called melanosomes responsible for pigmentation. Their shape determines the color. Caihong’s feathers had pancake-shape melanosomes similar to those of hummingbirds with iridescent feathers. Much of its body had dark feathers, but ribbon-like iridescent feathers covered its head and neck. While it possessed many bird-like characteristics, the researchers doubted it could actually get airborne. Its plumage could have attracted mates while also providing insulation. Caihong was a two-legged predator with a Velociraptor-like skull and sharp teeth, probably hunting small mammals and lizards. It had crests above its eyes that looked like bony eyebrows. Many dinosaurs possessed feathers. Birds evolved from small feathered dinosaurs near the end of the Jurassic Period. Caihong had fuzzy feathers and pennaceous ones, those that look like writing quills. It is the earliest known creature with asymmetrical feathers, a trait used by birds to steer when flying. Caihong’s were on its tail, suggesting tail feathers, not arm feathers, were first utilized for aerodynamic locomotion. “It is extremely similar to some early birds such as Archaeopteryx,” said paleontologist Xing Xu of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, referring to the earliest known bird, which lived 150 million years ago. “Its forelimbs were configured like wings. To be honest, I am not sure what function the feathers have, and I don’t think that you can completely exclude the possibility that the feathers helped the animal to get in the air.” Asked what someone might say upon seeing Caihong, University of Texas paleontologist Julia Clarke said, “‘Wow!’ And if they are anything like me, they might want one as a pet. Not suitable for children.” The dinosaur’s full scientific name, Caihong juji, means “rainbow with a big crest.”
  11. The moment you realize your wife is too dumb to live... Lowe's has had an ad campaign for awhile now-- "The moment you realize..." Well, this ad shows a couple buying a new oven because the wife is too stupid to realize that if she turns the casserole dish on the right of top rack, she'd be able to fit in the dish she's trying to fit, and they wouldn't have to spend the money on a new oven. Leslie Mann's Jergens commercials are always obnoxious and creepy... she's always popping up unannounced in people's bathrooms, talking to them about their dry skin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzkVTmQeWGE
  12. A raging bull hellbent on revenge charged a driver and his daughter after they fatally struck the animal’s companion cow in Long Island Friday. The bull and cow had escaped from a nearby farm and were trotting along a road in Yaphank when the cow was struck about 8 p.m. Friday. The panicked driver and his teenage daughter were ambushed by the bull after they pulled over and got out of the smoking car after hitting the animal. “I opened up my front door and I saw a car with hazard lights on and people running towards me,” neighbor Leslie Clay, 40, told the Daily News. “Then I see there’s (a bull) chasing them.” “They hid between my neighbor’s two cars for a few minutes yelling and screaming until the bull backed off," she added. The ballsy bull even tried to chase the cop who responded to the chaotic scene. "He ended up going back to his car and waited for more officers to come," Clay said. Authorities eventually corralled the bull with the help of animal control, Clay said.

  16. Rather than toss her undecked Christmas tree in the trash, one not-so-jolly Californian headed to Costco for a refund. According to a now-viral Facebook post from an eye witness cited by WFLA, the woman in question arrived at the Santa Clarita, Calif., store on Jan. 4 with her dead tree in tow demanding that she get her money back because it didn't stay lush and green for as long as expected. "I CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP…Yesterday Jan 4, 2018 at my Costco. Shame on Costco, Shame on this loser, but it's going to start costing all of us when the word gets out….," the post began. "Woman in line at Costco totally nonchalant, to return her Christmas Tree "because it is dead" on January 4th. I saw the whole thing go down with my own two eyes about 30 minutes ago. If I didn't see it, I wouldn't believe that someone had so little moral values or lack of conscience." The kicker? Per the Facebook status, the woman was granted a full refund for the dead tree, though it wasn't without a little push-back from store employees. "IT WAS QUESTIONED, VERIFIED PURCHASE ON HER ACCOUNT AND SHE WAS SHAMMED (SIC) TO A SMALL DEGREE…," the post read. They jury is still out on whether this is genius or absolutely ridiculous. chutzpah with a capital CH.
  17. You know, I could've looked that up , too. I was looking for some clever, witty responses... I thought perhaps some escorts who have experience sticking things in various places might chime in. But I can SWEAR I've had some things stuck in mine!

    WTF?

A hematologist Dr. WTF wanted me to see (my white blood cell count's been high for 25+ years... my friend has the same situation) WILL take my insurance, despite the fact that he's in the same medical group (but not practice) as Dr. WTF. Alas, I confirmed that my pulmonologist (I've seen him since 2005) WON'T.
  19. An expression I use occasionally is "It stuck in my craw." So I've always wondered: Where exactly is your craw?

  21. I always notice the moment in this scene when the girl with the bad accent turns away to avoid showing she's laughing after Sophia says "good luck with the lean, mean Swedish machine." It happens at the 1:00 mark of this clip.
  22. Carl's Jr. says it will make its New York City debut at the end of the month. The franchise said Tuesday that it will open a restaurant across the street from Penn Station. WNBC-TV reports the chain also opened a Coney Island location Tuesday. The chain currently has over 1,300 restaurants, but fewer than 10 of them are located east of Oklahoma. A rendering of the new restaurant shows a sign that is more than twice the size of a McDonald's restaurant that is next door.

  24. A woman who drove head-on into other cars on a California freeway in an apparent suicide attempt has been charged with second-degree murder for killing the driver she struck, according to authorities. Grace Elizabeth Ward, 28, of Red Bluff, suffered a broken leg in the Jan. 7 accident that killed 29-year-old medical student Ryan Folsom. She was arrested Tuesday after her release from the hospital and remained jailed on $1.5 million bail, prosecutors said. She was expected to be appointed a public defender at her arraignment, scheduled for Friday, according to Shasta County District Attorney Stephanie Bridgett. Ward was heading north on the freeway in Redding when she crossed into oncoming traffic and allegedly attempted to kill herself by running into other cars. “She intentionally was driving and swerving towards them,” Bridgett said. While three cars were able to get out of the way, Folsom’s car was struck. Bridgett called Ward’s actions a “selfish” decision. “She made a choice, a purposeful choice to use her vehicle and driving in a fashion that was reckless and dangerous with a complete disregard” for other lives, Bridgett said. Bridgett declined to say what Ward told investigators during an interview, or discuss details of her background. Ward was also charged with three counts of attempted murder and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon for her alleged attempt to strike the other three cars, according to Bridgett. She also faces a felony vandalism charge for damaging a median strip as she crossed into oncoming traffic, the district attorney said. If convicted, she could face life in prison. Folsom attended the University of Texas medical school in San Antonio and played football at Brigham Young University in Utah, where he studied neuroscience. A GoFundMe page has raised more than $300,000 to support Folsom’s family — including his widow, who is pregnant with their third child.
