  1. It's just for the opportunity to see Jesse's special "deluxe package" live and in person.
  2. Mr. Kate Upton is perfect through 4 versus the Twinkies tonight. 43 pitches. 11 of 12 first pitch strikes. UPDATE: (UPtonDATE?) Mr. Upton walked the first batter of the 5th, but Gio Urshela hit into a DP on the next pitch. No-hitter through 5. He'd be the 3rd man with 4. UPDATE: (UPtonDATE?) Another walk, but he's through 6 on only 66 pitches. UPDATE: (UPtonDATE?) The former Yankees are doing their bests to help out. Gary Sanchez just ended the 7th on the 76th pitch. UPDATE: (UPtonDATE?) The former Yankees are no longer doing their bests to help out. Gio got a single with one out in the 8th. So, like Nasty Nestor yesterday, Mr. Upton can only manage 7 1/3 hitless. (And before you ask, @WilliamM , these are Mr. & Mrs. Upton:) https://celebsfap.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/kate-upton-nude-_001.jpg https://fish-m.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/28140547-8786-fish-m.com.jpg
  3. You just described every episode of DATELINE or every based-on-a-true-story movie on Lifetime or USA.
  4. Because what is life without silly jokes? (A werewolf, a rabbi, and a porcupine walk into a bar...)
  5. It's not a pretty story. Not to be too ghoulish, but he's in something on Netflix called UNBREAKABLE which chronicles his comeback from a ruptured bicep in 2017; I just watched the first 20 minutes or so and it's just one scene after another of a stunningly beautiful man.
  6. That would make it even more interesting -- a hybrid of two shows -- PRISON BREAK OF THE WALKING DEAD.
  7. DeJong has been DeMoted so he is probably DeJected and DePressed. (DeJong was not a gold glove winner, another reason why he is probably DeJected and DePressed.)
  8. https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/86952-calum-von-moger-specimen-of-the-day/ Calum von Moger has been left fighting for his life after jumping through a window. The Australian actor and bodybuilder, 31, is said to have plunged from a second story window last week. Moger is best known for his portrayal of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 2018 film Bigger. Moger seriously injured his spine in the fall on May 6 and underwent a major operation. Fellow bodybuilder Nick Trigilli said the three-time Mr. Universe winner was still in the hospital in an induced coma. Trigilli claimed he was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident. Moger, who has 3.2 million Instagram followers, suffered a large number of cuts from the glass, according to reports. Trigilli, who runs the BodyBuilding & BS YouTube channel, said in his video: “Calum is hitting a rough spot… I hope this is rock bottom for him and he can get his life back.” According to reports, Moger was recently kicked out of his family’s house in Australia. In an emotional post on Instagram last week, he said: “Everyone has a past. We’ve all been through hard times. I admit, I messed up bad many times. “But I don’t care about dwelling on negative thoughts of the past. All I care about is that I learn from my mistakes and become a better person. “The positive achievements I’ve done in my life far outweigh the muck-ups I had along the way. “All I can ask is for your forgiveness so I can keep moving forward on the right path again.” https://nypost.com/2022/05/10/former-mr-universe-fighting-for-his-life-after-jumping-through-window/
  9. This is a very aptly-titled song, and if you listen to the lyrics (or read them on the screen) it probably explains Vicky's mindset.

  12. The NBA will head to the Middle East later this year, with the Bucks and Hawks playing a pair of preseason games in Abu Dhabi on October 6 and October 8, 2022. The games will be the league’s first in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and in the Arabian Gulf. The NBA’s foray into international markets for preseason games has been on hold during the last couple years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it appears it will resume this fall. In 2019, the league played preseason games in India, Japan, and China. Since ’19, regular season games have also been played in England, France, and Mexico. The Spurs reportedly hope to play more regular season home games in Mexico during the next couple seasons. umm... Greece might be interested in hosting a certain team. As Jim Owczarski of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel details, commissioner Adam Silver was asked last month about playing in the UAE despite the country’s human rights record, and acknowledged it was a “fair question.” “We look at many different factors in terms of how we travel, bring our games,” Silver said. “But our ultimate goal is to bring our games to everywhere around the world. There are lines we draw, but we’re an American company and usually we allow those lines to be drawn by our government. Whoever happens to be our administration gives us direction on where they think it’s appropriate for us to operate and not operate.” Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Commissioner of Baseball Robert D. Manfred Jr. announced a long-term strategic partnership that includes Major League Baseball’s commitment to hold major events in London over the next five years including regular season games in 2023, 2024 and 2026. Also announced was the formation of the MLB London Legacy Group which will include members from the Greater London Authority, Baseball Softball UK and other key stakeholders in the UK. The Group will be focused on delivering a wide-reaching and long-term legacy program that maximizes the impact of hosting MLB regular season games in London. “All aspects of the inaugural MLB games in London were an overwhelming success,” said Commissioner Manfred. “It was clear that sports fans in London had a great appetite for baseball and that passion was shared by Mayor Khan as well as the business and media community. We are confident in making a long-term commitment to London and are looking forward to returning to the city with more MLB games, special fan events, and other opportunities to play and watch the game further line our pockets.” London hosted Major League Baseball games for the first time in June of 2019 when the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox met in the inaugural MLB London Series. The two-games at London Stadium were the first-ever regular season games played in Europe. The stadium obviously wasn't configured for baseball and the first game was 6-6 after one inning and ended 17-13. In other words, a pre-humidor Coors Field pitchers' duel. To complement these events, MLB Europe will continue to conduct new London-based fan engagement events, expanded UK-focused content, baseball participation programs, and other city specific media arrangements to help continue the growth of baseball’s popularity across London. They should have hot dogs, apple pie (and Chevrolet). A prime example of this is Home Run Derby X, an electrifying new baseball format which will take place in London’s Crystal Palace Park on July 9, 2022. Home Run Derby X has been designed to frame baseball in a fun and unique way to a new audience, with MLB Legends competing alongside characters new fans trust and care about and integrated into digital platforms and live event experiences that appeal to them. English, please? (pun intended) Londoners, for better or worse, may have gotten the wrong impression of what Major League Baseball is all about. In the two games between the Yankees and Red Sox, the teams combined to score 50 runs, with New York winning both contests by margins of 17-13 and 12-8. Obviously, even by Red Sox/Yankee standards, that is an absurd amount of runs and makes MLB out to be a much more offensive product, in a good way, than it usually is. In scoring the 50 runs, the teams combined for 65 hits, 16 doubles and 10 homers, with both games going over four hours. Saturday’s game went 4:42, making it the third-longest nine-inning game in MLB history. (The two longest games are both also Boston/New York contests. A younger, healthier me spent almost 2 straight hours on a stationary bike at the gym watching the end of the longest one. It just kept going on and on, as did I. )

  16. So will Romeo drink poison, or figure out some other way to fulfill his fate? But isn't it romantic that the sheriff's name is Wedding? And can we say that Vicky taking advantage of her position was a case of White privilege?
  17. Former Alabama jail boss Vicky White and capital murder suspect Casey Cole White have been arrested in Indiana following a car chase that ended in a crash, according to a new report. Vicky shot herself in the process, Evansville Sheriff Dave Wedding told a WAAY TV reporter on Monday. Authorities plan on holding a press conference shortly. The pair have been on the lam since their alleged April 29 escape from Lauderdale County jail in Alabama.
  18. Nasty Nestor Cortes came within 5 outs of a no-hitter today and got a no-decision for a career high 7 1/3 innings and 103 pitches (one off his career high). (1H, 0 R, 4 BB, 11 K). Sherlock Holmes' great-grandson Clay faced one batter & got a DP for the win and Tracy Chapman's identical twin brother Aroldis nailed down the save.
  19. DEAR ABBY: My fiance, “Rowan,” and I are getting married this year. It is my second marriage and his first. Rowan has a young son I’ll call “Sean” from a previous relationship. I have a good relationship with Sean, and expressed to Rowan that I’d love to include Sean on our honeymoon, so we can have a proper first family vacation. (Rowan’s custody agreement states that no unmarried parties may live together when their child is present in the home.) Rowan was enthusiastic about it, since I’ll finally be able to have proper bonding time with Sean in a home environment overnight. But when I bring this up with anyone else, they say I am selfish for wanting to play “Mom” and include my soon-to-be stepson on a vacation that’s supposed to be for just me and my fiance. We want to share this time with his son and have a fun family vacation. Are we doing the wrong thing? Should we leave Sean out? Why, with so many different family dynamics, is wanting to include Rowan’s son regarded as selfish? — UNSELFISH IN THE SOUTH DEAR UNSELFISH PEDOPHILE: You and Rowan should listen to your hearts instead of listening to unsolicited advice. Wanting to include Sean on the trip is the opposite of selfish, and it is your and your fiance’s privilege to decide. HOW ARE YOU PLANNING ON GETTING RID OF ROWAN SO YOU AND THE KID CAN HAVE A PROPER HONEYMOON? DEAR ABBY: My husband’s daughter has decided that her children should not call me “Grandma,” because I’m not their biological grandmother. She says her mother is their grandma and not me, even though her father and I have been together since before the birth of her children. Eight years later, she told them not to call me Grandma. I am so hurt about it I can no longer bring myself to go over to their house. Please tell me how I can deal with being so blatantly disrespected by my husband’s daughter. I seem to be good only for birthday presents and Christmas gifts. — SLIGHTED IN CALIFORNIA DEAR SLIGHTED: I subscribe to the philosophy that the more love there is in this world, the better. I would take it a step further and add that the more loving grandparents there are in a child’s life, the better. Your stepdaughter’s announcement to the children at this late date that you are not their grandmother seems spiteful and hurtful. That said, there’s nothing positive to be gained by shunning the children if you love them. What they call you is less important than the relationship you have with them. If you continue staying away as you have been doing, you will only drive a deeper wedge between you. (you know the answer that's coming) KILL THE BITCH!

  21. Emperor penguins are at risk of extinction, according to conservationists and researchers. On Friday, an expert from the Argentine Antarctic Institute (IAA) warned that changes could come within the next 30 to 40 years, with climate change as the driving force. “[Climate] projections suggest that the colonies that are located between latitudes 60 and 70 degrees [south] will disappear in the next few decades; that is, in the next 30, 40 years,” IAA biologist Marcela Libertelli told Reuters. She said that loss of solid sea ice in the Antarctic from April through December would disrupt the penguins’ reproductive cycle and noted that increased tourism and fishing has impacted food sources for penguins and other species. The emperor penguin’s disappearance could also have a dramatic effect on the ecosystem there. In a statement, the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) said last month that urgent action needed to be taken, with the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) projecting that around 80% of emperor penguin colonies will be quasi-extinct by the year 2100 under current levels of carbon dioxide emissions. The researchers also predicted that the total number of emperor penguins could decline by at least 81% under that scenario and that — under extreme circumstances — up to 100% of colonies could become quasi-extinct by 2100, with the number of emperor penguins projected to decline by at least 99%. The WWF called for the penguins to be listed as a specially protected species, raising similar concerns as Libertelli over the destruction of habitat. “Emperor penguins require stable, ‘fast’ ice (sea ice which is connected to the land) for about nine months of the year as a platform to mate, incubate their eggs, raise their chicks and replace their feathers during the annual moult,” the non-governmental organization explained. “Changes to, or loss of, fast ice, or early ice breakout can cause massive breeding failure for several consecutive years. Collapsed ice shelves can block paths to feeding areas, leading to the death of both chicks and adults.” With temperatures in parts of eastern Antarctica rising to concerning record levels this year, the WWF highlighted that even the best-case scenario means the penguins’ population is likely to decrease by 31% by the end of the century. “Emperor penguins are the most iconic species of the ice. They are uniquely adapted to the harsh and extreme Antarctic environment,” Rod Downie, WWF’s chief adviser of the polar regions, said in a statement. “Yet they are also increasingly vulnerable to climate change, habitat loss and human disturbance. “Only humans can secure the future of this species, as their fate depends on global climate policy combined with an action plan to protect their habitat and remove other risks from human disturbance. We need emperor penguins to be listed as specially protected species at this year’s Antarctic Treaty meeting in order to better shield them against the threat of climate change and to ensure their continued survival.”   There are approximately 595,000 adult emperor penguins in Antarctica. In April, the World Meteorological Organization wrote that record-high temperatures, rain and the collapse of an ice shelf were prompting widespread concern, though it was too soon to say definitively whether climate change was the cause. The Antarctic ice sheets have been losing mass since at least 1990, and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says they are expected to continue to do so. As a result of melting ice, the rate of global sea level rise has increased, reaching a new record high in 2021. The Antarctic ice sheet contains 90% of the world’s fresh water, enough to raise sea level by around 60 meters. Last week, scientists announced they had made the first detection of groundwater beneath an Antarctic ice stream. DID YOU JUST FEEL A RAINDROP? (this was the actual pic that came with the article.)
  22. A Ukrainian band is considered a favorite to win the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, which has been televised across the continent annually since 1956 and which was won by ABBA with Waterloo in 1974, launching the band's ascent into the greatest in music history. Oleh Psiuk, 27, the rapping frontman of the band, insists his song will win the competition on the merits, not because of an outpouring of support for his war-torn homeland. The contest is decided both by a panel of music industry experts and viewers at home. “Now we have first place with the bookmakers, but before the beginning of the war we were fifth. It turns out people really like our song, so huge gratitude to everybody who have paid attention to Ukrainian music,” Psiuk said. “Stefania,” a love song to Psiuk’s mother that features elements of traditional music and rap, was written before the war began, but has taken on a new meaning as fans equate the lyrics with the Ukrainian motherland, the artist told the paper. It features stanzas like “I’ll always find my way home even if all roads are destroyed,” and “Mother sing me the lullaby, I want to hear your dear word.” “Our song is loved by Europeans not only because of the war. The more people pay attention to Ukraine, the more they hear about the song, so this song is loved by an ever-wider audience,” he said. Members of Kalush Orchestra needed a special governmental waiver to leave Ukraine to compete in the contest’s final round next week in Turin, Italy. All able bodied men under the age of 60 are required to remain in Ukraine and take up arms against the Russians. Winning the contest would “really increase the morale of the country,” Psiuk told the newspaper. Expert observers of the competition told the paper that such a “morale” boost seemed likely. “They will win the public vote by a landslide,” said Paul Jordan, who wrote a Ph.D. thesis on the Eurovision Song Contest and later worked for the organization. “The [expert] jury vote will be different and difficult to predict.” Ukraine has won Eurovision twice since its first appearance in the contest, which was won by ABBA with Waterloo in 1974, launching the band's ascent into the greatest in music history, 19 years ago. Russia was banned from participating in this year’s event.
